Boyfriend might have accidentally said 'I love you'.

Question

When I last saw my b/f, he hugged me so tight I couldn't breathe. During our hug, he slipped and said those three words, 'I love you'. We were only hugging, not kissing and not having sex. I know some men like to say that during the heat of passion but were only hugging. After he said it, he had this look on his face like 'what did I do?'. He looked dumbfounded and was about to correct himself until I said 'Naw you can't take it back!' and we started laughing. We've only been dating for a month and I really like him a lot.

Even though it looked like he wanted to take it back should I believe that he really likes me and that he has my best interests at heart? It is hard for me to trust him and he even has told me that he didn't trust me. Should I take his expression as an innocent slip or should I knock the wall down and let him in? Did he mean it when he said it even though it looked like he slipped?

He loves you after a month huh? LOL okay so here's the deal and you are an adult. You know they will say anything to get you in bed right? Have you slept with him before? If you had sex with him before and he said it then he has some strong feelings for you but don't rely on that.

LOVE? I'm not sure about that so here's what you do. Ask him one simple question.

1. WHY?

2. Why do you love me?

3. What do you find special about me to make you love me?

If he can't answer the question or his answers sound shady then it was either a slip or he's full of ish! An answer like you are so pretty is shallow. An answer like you are smart prompts you to ask him for an example. If he can't give you an example, you can't trust him. If you can't trust him you don't need to be with him.

You should just ask him if he's for real or if he slipped up and tell him that it's okay if he did. You need to know where you stand with him and don't believe any guy that says he loves you after a month of dating. Players try to push you into girlfriend status early so that you are secure and stop looking.

I have dealt with lots of guys that are players. The faces change but the game is the same. Players only love you when they're playing games. There is something that this man is getting from you or intends on getting from you. Players always say that they think you are playing games with them to put you on the defensive. If you want to send me a message and explain a little more I can 'put you up on game'. I know how to turn it around LOL and I only use my powers for good not evil.

Don't let him in. When you have these doubts, they are normally right. I know you want to let him because you might want to feel the love. But whatever you're doing, keep doing it that way so that he shows you the love that he's talking about.

If it was any kind of slip, it was freudian. He might not have consciously planned on saying it, but obviously something told him to say it. I would say he meant it, at least on some level.

I personally think it slipped and it happens, people feel a connection and in today’s world it jumps to love so quickly. However let me say this I think this feeling of dis trust its one of two things. If you were hurt in the past because of distrust it sometimes can seen in everyone making it hard to trust anyone. Where as also you could have a natural heart felt feeling something isn’t right. In both cases it’s all a risk. I can't give you an yes or no answer because its up to you if you want to spin the wheel and open up for possible heart break or the opposite a sense of love you haven’t felt in a while. Now again in regards to him, I say see it as him getting really interested but besides that don’t take the words to heart to much the words are just that words, its the warm feeling that devious emotion that you get when he says it for real, that’s when you know its genuine.

You don't accidentally say I love you, and then want to "take it back" unless you are using it as a ploy for something else. If he really loves you, or more likely, thinks he loves you, the last thing he would want to do is "take it back." You sure he didn't look dumbfounded because you didn't respond the way he was hoping?

If you like him and he likes you, continue to see where things lead, but my opinion is that if he "slipped" and said I love you then that's a point against him NOT for him.

yeah he did he was going to impress you, and you took it a wrong way  because you thought about it too much, hopefully you aren't so judgemental and hopefully you can be more giving and respectful of his thoughts and what he wants to say, it takes a person a lot to say it, and if it doesn't come out exactly how you wanted it to, then its not his fault, ur just thinking about it 2 much, ok

He probably meant it.

However, if there's problems with trust I don't think you should be sleeping together, and I don't think you should "knock down the wall and let him in."

Trust is not all or nothing. Instead, try taking a few bricks out of the wall. Build trust slowly and gradually -- after only a month you don't know much about one another.
