It's difficult to walk and engage in a conversation if you're too tall. I enjoy eye contact when talking so I would have to crank up my neck. My boyfriend is 6'4" but I'm 5'6".

u You're 7 inches taller than me and yeah its on the tall side, but really not a big deal. Stick to tall women, they'll likely have no issue with it.
I've actually found the opposite, that tall women aren't really into guys who are much taller than average. The girls who've seemed to like me have been short, like 5'4" and below.
That's why I said "likely", lol. I'm 6'1" and when I was single I always liked guys of all different heights. But my problem was that the short guys would go for short girls and the tall guys would go for short girls too! I think guys tend to feel a little emasculated next to a tall girl.
I used to like one guy who was probably about your height, and when I asked him out he told me I was too tall for him. I actually went home and cried, lmao. At least he was honest. Now I just laugh about it.
My mom is 5'3" and my dad is 6'7". I always wanted to be cute and petite like my mom but that's just not how things worked out.
I'm sorry, I rambled on an on there. If you are into the girls who clearly like you, then go for it! Don't pass up a tall girl either (like 5'10"+ let's say). It seems to be harder for us to get dates so she'll appreciate being approached especially if she likes you.

Really? Wow. It's possible that they automatically assume you're not going to be interested. We're always told that guys like the short women, lol. I learned not to think like that and it's probably the best thing I ever did for my self esteem.
I don't get it either. Girls apparently either think they're too good for me or I'm too good for them. But, I guess that's true for most guys. Girls in college seem like they're more interested in FWBs and hooking up than they are in having a bf.

Yes, I do struggle to find girls to date. I've been in college for two years and have been single the whole time. I'm not fat at all, so I just feel like girls are skeptical of me because I'm so different. I always stand out and people tend to stare at me, which makes me very uncomfortable. I feel like maybe girls see me as more of freak than just another guy.

I live in the US. Thanks for the encouragement, but I haven't found being tall to be a great thing. People tend to view me as weird or different in a bad way. I keep hearing how girls like tall guys, but by that I think they really mean guys who are a little over 6' tall. There are guys on my campus who are like 5'9" who are way more successful with girls that me.

I don't think girls here are especially short. The average height of American girls is about 5'4", and white American girls are about 5'6". I'm getting worried that I won't have dated anyone by the time I graduate, which is why I'm trying a lot harder to find a girlfriend. I don't want to be one of these guys who is 25 and completely inexperienced with girls.
Croatians do have a reputation for being tall, seeing how many basketball players come from your native country. My friend visited Split last year, and the pictures were amazing.

Yes I am moving because here I would graduate really late from high school we call it gymnasium and after you can go and study. So that means here I would graduate at 21 and then start to go to university (I am 18 now). So for me it's just too late

Yes, I do get "friendzoned" by most girls I meet, though I don't really like that term. I probably don't show enough interest in the girls I like. I'm reticent to do so because I don't really believe that they'll like me back. I've been humiliated a couple of times when I liked a girl and she laughed at me.

It's tough for guys like me, though, because I've been rejected by the only girls I have liked. It's a lot more painful than girls realize, because I've only asked out the girls I really liked. No, your English is great. I know that I'm too sensitive, and I beat myself up for failing with women. I know you're right. I do need to get brave and ask girls out because that's the only way I'll ever get a girlfriend. I admit that I do envy guys who are skilled with women, even though I disdain their crudity and shallowness.
My whole desire in posting this question was to figure out how many girls might be open to dating me. I've always tried to get to know girls first so I could gauge their interest, but that has never worked. My lack of courage put them off and got me labeled as a friend. So now I'm trying to just start asking girls out when I first meet them, but I'm worried that most girls won't be into a guy like me who is so different from the norm. I lift weights and dress nicely and groom myself well to try to improve my stock with girls. I need to convince myself that I'm attractive to girls before I start approaching them. That's all :-)

That's a good start and the main think you need to gain is much more self confidence.
Girls like guys with a healthy self confidence and yes try to ask them out. The body language of women is so easy to read. If you get the signals go for it :)

I know, a female friend of mine told me that the sexiest thing a guy can wear is a thick layer of pride and self confidence. She also told me to "fake it until you make it," meaning that I should pretend to have self confidence even if I don't feel that deep inside. I'm hoping that gaining muscle and getting stronger will help my self esteem. It's tough to develop self esteem when you don't naturally have it.
Maybe I should move to Europe . It sounds like really tall guys might be more popular over there. Girls in the US are always worried about guys being abusive, so they're somewhat skeptical of big guys because they fear us.

You have been very helpful, so thank you! I live in Houston, Texas. It's a large city, very hot, humid, and lots of dirty industry. There are nice parts, though, and the economy is great. People here in general are very welcoming.
And yes, gaining muscle is a great booster to our self confidence. I've already had a female friend feel my arm because she said it looks bigger, so I think the girls like the results, too. I'm not afraid to do the work that it takes to become attractive. I'm not like some guys who refuse to try to improve. Some guys will never learn that no girl has to like them.

Yes, at that height, some girls start thinking it's too tall. However some other girls -love- it. There are more girls who love it than there are guys that height, so overall, it was a big plus for them dating, but for any specific girl it depends on her tastes.
Ah, I'm afraid there's a "freak factor" that begins to arise once a person gets too far from the norm. I've never met a girl who said she was particularly attracted to my height, but then girls are often cryptic about such things.
A female coworker of mine went to a club with the 7' guy once, and literally got elbowed in the head by a woman trying to get to him to flirt with him.
Guess I just don't have the magic touch.

There is nothing too tall for me lol. For me the ideal height would be 6'3''-6'4'' but I could date a 6'8'' , I wouldn't mind. I'm 5'4' by the way. What's your height preference in a woman?
I can't say I really have an ideal height. The girl I'm crushing on right now is 5'1", which is a big reason why I asked this question. I think most girls believe that really tall guys only want (or only should want) to date really tall girls (those around 6'0"). There aren't that many girls who are around 6'0" tall, and those who I've met have ignored me.

Thanks, but I'm not so sure. Like you said in your OP, most girls like the guys who are 6'3", but they shy away from guys my height. During my freshman year, one girl I liked asked me what shoe size I wear, and when I told her I wear an 18, she was like, "Those things look like clown shoes." Things like that make me feel like I'm too different for girls to really want to date me. It's hard to know who willing to go with it and who's not.
Sorry to say but she was an idiot and she didn't worth your friendship let alone your love. And the hight I mentioned doesn't mean what the majority of women like, 6'4'' or 6'8'', not much of a difference. Who likes a 6'4'' will like a few inches more too, don't worry.

Well, I can't speak for other freakishly tall guys, but I can say that I don't think there's anything awkward about my attraction to my crush. She's petite and beautiful and I get jittery inside every time I see her on campus.

Nooooo, long legs are great and all, but there are tons and tons of guys who love small women. Small women arouse all of our instincts to be protective and strong. Plus, small girls are just the hottest girls, so don't ever doubt that guys would be attracted to your size.
