Is it okay to date your cousin's step daughter?

I went over there for vacation and we really hit it off and kind of have a thing for each other. She's step, 'cuz my cousin married a man and it's HIS daughter, so she's not actually my blood family. But I still think my family might find it a bit strange, because it's my cousin's step daughter. But she's step though.
