What's With Rihanna's New Album: ANTI?

Rihanna's new album seems to be getting some mixed feedback and it's no surprise. Each song is vastly different from the other and you can't exactly pinpoint their genres. It sold more than 1 million copies in less than one day when it was released on the 28th January 2016, which can mean one out of two things: people like this new style of hers or they had no clue what they were getting into.



Watching the #ANTIdiaRy series on Youtube, which were basically trailers for the album, will give you an idea of its insanity.

This song truly captures Rihanna's evident talent, it's emotional and the backing piano really makes it. It gives me goosebumps every time I listen to it!



Despite enjoying those songs now and being a fan of Rihanna, I would be pretty disappointed if I bought the album. Sometimes it feels Rihanna takes advantage of her millions of fans and fame; she knows she could make a CD of her breathing for 5 hours and people would buy it.
A stupid number of people believe she's sold her soul to the devil (if that was a real thing?) and this album is a huge sign of it. People have assumed her use of the word "ANTI" means "Anti-Christ" or "Anti-religion" although there's no indication of this and Rihanna is a proud Christian.



Personally, I think Rihanna's trying very hard to be unique and trying to push the boundaries of music. The word "Anti" simply means being defiant and rebellious, to me. She's not the girl she once was in the "Pon De Replay" days, that's for sure.
