My son wants to wear thong underwear. I am not sure how to react?

My son (13) was helping do the laundry over the weekend and noticed some of my daughters (15) thongs in the wash. He was curious about them and asked about if he can get some? I have always portrayed an open platform about discussing sex and related issues with him and my daughter, but I'm not sure about this yet and I was wondering about some opinions? I wouldn't have expected this question from my son, whereas I always expected it from my daughter. Is this even appropriate for a boy? Although there might be male thong-style underwear on the market, it still is a niche and not common for males to wear such underwear.

If he and his sister are about the same size, give him one of his sister's thongs to wear to try them out. If he likes them, buy him some thong panties of his own. It is normally a phase that will pass. Denying him may lead to him stealing and wearing them secretly anyway to satisfy his curiousity and may turn panties into forbidden fruit, leaving him with a fetish.

Went through this when my daughter started wearing nylon panties. My son noticed at laundry time his older sister's new panties. He was very curious about them and and asked if he could get some like those. They were roughly the same size and the panties had a lot of stretch, so gave him a pair to try on. He liked them, so bought him a some of his own. I removed his underwear from his drawer and put his new panties in there. I had him put the bag with his underwear in his closet. He wore panties exclusively everyday for several weeks. Eventually the newness or curiousness wore off, and his panties became boring underwear. He may have also realized the panties weren't made for boys and didn't offer the support he needed. His panties soon stopped being in the laundry, and his normal underwear started showing up again. I found the underwear back in his drawer and the panties in the bag in his closet, never to be worn again, so I removed them. When out shopping for underwear later on, I asked him if he wanted any more panties, but he didn't.

Definitely a good way to go about it, as long as you make sure to not push your kids in a certain direction that you think he or she should be headed in. So letting him try them on and perhaps decide to find them uncomfortable is OK, but make sure those are men's thongs and not women underwear which - of course - won't fit and result in him finding it extremely uncomfortable. Being open about it is good, though. And then later on, it's really his own decision whether he wants to wear thongs or not. I personally wear them too, even though I still have boxers.

I think this is just a matter that she has something different or unique than he does and he doesn't want to be left out. I think he is a bit too young to realize why women wear thongs or what the fashion reasoning is and he just sees it as she has something different and he is curious about it. I would be flat out honest with him that women like to wear pants that do not show panty lines. I am sure your daughter probably wears yoga pants 90% of the time like every other girl out there and this is why she wears a thong.

He's thirteen. I'd just tell him no. If he demands an explanation, just tell him you don't think it's appropriate for a guy his age and leave it at that. When he gets older, he'll eventually be buying his own clothes, but that's sometime in the future.

Today's boys are going nuts over girls lingerie. They just get attracted to female clothing. When they have more access to female clothes and seeing females in lingerie , they take their imagination to absurd levels. I wear men's thong underwear but! I'm 50 not 13 they do sell them in most stores but for 13 year old boys I doubt they sell boys size thong underwear.
They do sell boys dance belts for his age in thong style if he is really interested in wearing one.

I remember I was Like this when I was 13 back in 8th Grade. I wanted to wear Thongs too. I was fortunate enough to find some nice Men ones on International Jock. com, I puchased Quite a Bunch. In my opinion you should just let him wear what he wants, esspecially if its Underwear (Cuz lets face it, He probably isn't goimg to be showing everyone). Just make sure you get him Ones Designed for Males, for better support. Im 18 npw and thats all I wear. Its just a matter of what he likes.

I agree with Anonymous on this, buy him some thong panties to wear for a few weeks. If he likes them them buy him some more and support him in his decision, and if he doesn't he will go back to wearing his underwear. If you deny him he will try them on anyway so make sure it's girls thong panties.
