Hot Girl On The Train: An Almost Perfect Story

This story gave me a bit of a fright because I saw myself making the same mistakes - perfect hindsight and all that...

Riding a nearly empty train to work one day, I see a pretty average looking guy in his early 30s walk past me.

He's asking someone something. It's a girl. It sounds clumsy.

Clearly, he doesn't know her. Could it be... Yep, he's trying to chat her up!

In broad daylight. This is cool - I know I'm going to enjoy it!!

Every single word. Every awkward moment. And knowing that this time, it's someone else's chance to screw up...

So I prick my ears and listen in...

He's saying something about the trains running late. She and says she's used to it.

Not a bad start.

He's talking about the good old days. She's laughing and having a good time. Yeah, right on, man!!

But there's one thing eating away at me - what the hell does she LOOK like???

I don't know about girls, but for every guy out there, it's a make or break.

Otherwise, you don't REALLY know what's going on...

So, I turned around to check her out.

(I actually pretend I'm looking at some station. Pathetic, I know.)

They get off the station and...

he mumbles that it was lovely (lovely?! really???) to talk to her, but he needs to go. We don't know where.

And walks away. Without even asking her for a number.

What?!??!!!?? No, YOU WON'T!!! She's just asked you on a date, not tomorrow, not tonight, right now!!

The girl didn't expect this, but she quickly collected herself and went on (presumably, to get a coffee by herself).

Guys, this our lives in a nutshell - go through all the hard work, stuff up along the way and then royally screw up at the end...

I've done fallen flat on my face like that way too many times...

It's another lesson learnt: no matter what happens when you're with a girl, you have to follow it through and seal the deal!!

This story may or may not be typical, you decide...
