But truly, we are the ones who are oppressed, slaves to fashions that degrade us, obsessed with our weight, begging for love from men who do not want to grow up. Deep down inside, we know that we have been cheated. We secretly admire and envy you. although some of us will not admit it…We Christian women need to see what life is really supposed to be like for women. We need you to set the example for us, because we are lost."t first it seems innocent enough. Just dress a little bit more revealingly and be more like women in the West. Then they will start to seduce you more and more with the idea of loosening your sexual morality, then comes abortion and promiscuity. All of this leads to misery for women. Women are safest and happiest when they dress modestly and keep their sexuality only for their husbands.

What right winged bull shit is this?1st off I pretty much disagree with everything she said. Although I do agree that Muslim women are viewed as "slaves" but dont feel that way, but the same thing goes for Christians;people view us abstaining from sex or keeping virginity as a form of slavery. I believe in this day you're only a slave if you think you're a a slave and you let your mind be enslaved.
Why is it that woman can't dress like a woman without it being viewed as a sign of her promiscuity? As a Christian woman I do resent the opinion that women "need to see what life is really suppose to be like for women". The truth this writer is expression doesn't fit everyone's calling or lifestyle. In the eastern part of the world women also aren't allowed to work or drive or is that apart of how a woman is suppose to live too? Not everyone is raised in the Christian social setting where you have to dress modest. You may think a girl is under dressing but what if her clothes have gotten too small and she hasn't the money to buy new ones? This woman writing isn't going to stop and ask her just judge her by her appearance thinking she wants attention from men. We as women in the west have a choice about what clothes we wear and that's part of what makes us liberated. Now here's the thing Most western Christians I have met are terrified and dead set against the idea of socialism because they feel it leads to communism and that's not free, but isn't wanting to controlling the way a woman is dressed close to that. When I go to church on Sunday and weather prediction is 101 degrees I don't want to be in a long flannel button down dress... o_0 Jesus has already accepted me whether I wear the button down or a sun dress... I don't look at the way I dress as just apart of sexuality it also has to do with individuality and creativity. It's the way a woman accepts and express the way she views her beauty inside and out.

Yes, I do believe that not all Muslim women are oppressed. Some are really happy with their religion and enjoy the traditional housewife role they're supposed to fulfill. Hell, some enjoy life more than I do. HOWEVER. What if a woman in a Muslim country wants to be a scholar or an engineer? She's sure to find more obstacles than a Western woman. What if she wants to marry an atheist, or doesn't believe in God herself? She's gonna have WAY harder times getting out of the Muslim society than a Christian woman would.

I like being a Western girl. It actually gives you OPTIONS. Believe it or not, acceptance of self is a thing in the West. I know nutcase hippies will try to tell you otherwise, but each and every single person in the West, whether they're gay, straight, skinny, fat, religious, atheist, married or single is going to be accepted by at least a small group of people over here. A forward-thinking Muslim woman can't have even that most of the time.

I don't even know where to start with this because I strongly suspect you just want to piss people off by posting such obvious rubbish. I just don't understand why Islam and Muslims concern themselves with the Western culture so much, if you don't like it and disapprove so much then there's a very obvious answer to that problem. If you start saying that the Western world influences your women, then considering how you pride yourselves on being the leaders in the way of dealing with women maybe you should be able to 'control' them better, or, perhaps, you should take a serious look at the way you treat some of them and you attitudes to white women and women in general.

I don't go along with the abortion idea, but I don't go along with Pakistani men raping or paying little street boys to have sex with them (prostitution). That's because they can't be seen in public with a woman they're not married to. Those same men expect a virgin wife, and it's socially acceptable.

I'd much prefer couples having premarital sex, and no little street kids getting raped.

What horseshit. Women in the West are free to dress as they choose, without fear of being stoned to death for being suspected of adultery. Western women are also not subject to having their genitals mutilated, or being hanged for apostasy for the crime of converting to Christianity. And they are certainly not being buried alive or crucified as is happening right now in Syria and Iraq.

Christian women aren't forced to be sexually promiscuous so I don't understand her analogy. The writer sounds like she hates men and doesn't value sex as a bonding agent between a husband and wife. Also, confusing clothing with human rights is just silly.
