We can't hold a conversation?

So this girl I really like often tries to initiate conversation with me, and laughs way too much at my dumb jokes (those are the only signs she shows of liking me). Anyways, we're both pretty shy, and have difficulty holding conversation. I would like to ask her out but not only do I fear rejection, I also fear awkwardness because I am usually only good at talking with more outgoing people.

I have been in that situation before. We started talking to each other on MSN, and we would literally just send emoticons to each other. I hate small talk, so ask her questions... tell her about yourself... find some common ground, then ask to hang out. Face to face its easier to hold conversation than online or via text message.

I find it much easier to make conversation online, because I'm less stressed when simply typing, and I can take my time carefully constructing what I'm gonna say. Thanks for the tips though, any other signs I can look for that she likes me back, besides the two already stated?

do you see her a lot in class/work? if you do, try flirting! or ask her questions about herself "so what music do you listen to" "what movies do you watch " -always a good one<< this makes girls believe you're genuinely interested in them, and opens them up to you :) good luck!

Hmm, I'm not very good at flirting. I'll try to casually bring something up and finally initiate a convo, she tries a lot to initiate talk a lot more than me and she seems to always find an excuse to talk to me. Is that a sign she might like me?

that's good a sign she wants to get to know you more yeah, and if she's generally outgoing and chatty to most other people this might just be part of her personality :) but still, talk to her more so she sees you as someone she can easily chat to instead of having to make the effort every time if that's what it seems like. I'm sure you'll do fine! talk about recents events that everyone else is already talking about, like funny tv shows or if anything big happened at break/lunch, this can help if you're stuck in a situation where you can't think of anything to say! it won't be as bad as you think :)

It is a lot more difficult than that. I can't just find a girl, especially with my looks. If a girl shows any hint of liking me like this girl has been, I get really happy because it's so rare and can only focus on that girl. Plus, most girls tend to be quite shy, and most outgoing girls seem to only want really tall hansom guys (talking from experience, not fact).
