so I told this girl how I feel about her we worked with each other for like a year and we just started getting close we would talk about everything it seemed like she liked me we would make each other laugh all the time and like 3 people told us to stop flirting even the manager came in and said it.

so anyway she left for school like 1000 miles away and she will be back in 3 months so she texted me like 3 days after she was there saying how she missed her mom and everything So I was giving her advice on how to deal with it then I told her how depressed I was because she was not there and she was like aww I told you you would miss me

so after that I told her my feelings about her and a day later she replied saying this

Hey, umm I think we should just stay friends, I like talking to you and everything, but I don’t want anything more than that...and I’m still with my boyfriend...I don’t want this to make anything weird, I like having you as a friend.

So do I just give up do I have a chance I like her so much and iv been depressed for like 3 days all I think about is her and how I will never get to be with her.

No, she won't message you. She's waiting on a response. Girls who are more desperate to get a guy will end up texting him every so often just to spark his interest up.

But girls who aren't so needy = they'll just reply once at a time.

You're being a 'nice guy' by verbally letting her know you like her. I've seen this play out so many times it makes my head spin. Although you're being pleasant and doing the right thing, it's not the favorable one for us guys. Let me tell you a piece of advice that can help you in the long run:

-Guys make decisions on which girl they want, pursue her, and take ACTION physically rather than verbally telling a girl what he tinks.

-Girls are the verbal ones. They're the sociable brats who always talk to their girl friends about issues and stuff. I personally like to just have 'fun' talking to a girl by flirting, teasing, and joking with sarcastic behavior to girls, because I want them to entertain me. I don't talk about feelings and all that feminine crap because it may mess with my emotional state. And I'd rather stay happy and have fun interacting with them.

So I tell you what - be friends with girls you're NOT sexually interested in. But for the ones you are, use them for fun and if they turn out to be good company, make a move physically (go for a kiss). Taking ACTION and not worrying about what the outcome is ... confidence.

If you plan this out better, this girl will break up with her boyfriend and want you to sweep her off her feet. Or if you don't do anything about it, then it's in her power when she'll decide to give you a chance. May take months, years, who knows.

I am in a similar position, and for 1 year I have not given up... we are very close, but incredible as it seems she is still with her boyfriend.. after all the flowers , paintings, perfume, secrets we share only between us, the boyfriend is still around... she never talks about him, and she hides me from him... well what I can is we are in the same boat, u and I, so perhaps I will say the following, and also take my own advice... say OK fine you just wanna be friends... then go get a girlfriend, and let her know you have one, talk a lot about your girlfriend... and stop treating her as if she was special... she will start to get jealous, and then if you still really want her, go for her 200%, stop the talking , just grab her and kiss her, and make love to her...
