Any time I have a question about guys, I ask myself what I would do if I was in their shoes. When I stare at a guy and I don't look away once eye contact is made, it's because I'm really interested in him and ready to let him know it. If I stare at a guy and then I look away once he notices, it's because I may be interested in him, but I'm not ready to let him know it. I don't think that it's too far fetched for me to assume that guys are the same way, give or take a little bit.

Haha, that would explain the staring. Don't worry, if he does like you he would show it other than staring. If he doesn't like you, then maybe he wants to see if you show it... If you still like him, then look at him and smile away.

It means that he likes you, and wants you to know it. Usually when a guy looks away quickly after you too exchange glances, it means he's nervous and/or shy. Maintaining eye contact means he's direct, and probably confident. Either way, catching a guy staring at you is a really good sign that he's interested.
