Caught my friend staring many times?

so i have this friend im in a band with. for our last few meets i've caught him staring at me quite a lot (almost every 5 mins). i'm not quite sure what to think of this. he doesn't turn away when i catch him either. i'll joking ask him what he's looking at n things like that and he will just sit there and smile. he has a whole ass girlfriend who he seems to care for quite a lot. were always joking around with each other as were very close. we basically like that typical guy and girl friends who every one thinks is dating. We hug a lot, talk about things other won't. yesterday he would go on about how much he thinks his girlfriend is hot, but be kinda blunt about it... I'm not really sure what to say about that part. i don't think he has even be dating her that long. i could be reading into things too much. just wanted to know what you people thought about this...

If he's staring like that, it is the beginning stages of attraction. He may like the girlfriend at the same time and still be attracted to you. Your friendship is also increasing the attraction.

well you see thats the thing. he's hot and all, we could even potentially date but I've just gotten out of a pretty toxic relationship. i would rather not break them up as I don't know his girlfriend. i don't want some random girl comin after me ya know?

yea i did. it was a very bad relationship as well. the guy was horrible and tried to blame the whole breakup on me... sorry if that's a tmi but its true. I'm sure he'll be in the relationship for some time unless he changes his mind ofc. I'm not gonna make moves or anything cuz I'm too lazy for that
