Why do women think the male body isn't a turn on

Question

Well every single woman over at yahoo answers and even every women I have asked in real life say that the male body leaves a lot to be desired and doesn't look as good as the female body.

There is even a study that showed that women are more turned on looking at naked pictures of female bodies than naked pictures of male bodies.

Now I have heard some people say that women do like the male body but they just don't admit it. But I find it hard to believe that women are part of a conspiracy to make men feel crap about their bodies.

So why is this. Why do women even bother dating Men if they are more turned on with female bodies.

If women really do like the male body more then why are they do dishonest. Are they out to make men feel depressed and get low self esteem.

I notice Asian women tend to actually think the male body is sexy. That is why I am going with Asian women. Well statistically it makes a lot of sense since a lot of white women are bisexual so of course a lot of white women are going to think women are sexier.

huh! dude what the f*** with the update bit lo.l anywhoo, I don't know whta your talking about cos I love the male form. I love the fact that the male body is stonger and bigger than us. its such a huge turn on. I love the fact that they have broader shoulders, they are taller and harier than us. I have to agree on the part that women are more turned on by female nakedness form compared to their male counterparts. for me personally I can relate to that becos when there's a naked picture of a women, she usually has an expression on her face which indicates pleasure. her body is also positioned in a away that supports this loook. now when I see that I recognise exactly what she's feeling even if she isn't actually touching herself or even has sum1 with her. I am autimatically aroused by this becaue I can identify with what she's feeling. lol.

now in terms of the bisexual part to you question, iam Asian and I admit I have bisexual tendencies and its not in the sense that you may think. when I see a lesbian who facially looks masculine, who is also very tall like a man or even acts masculine I must admit I will notice her. but what stops me in my tarcks are her lady parts. I'm not turned on by women physically. I don't find a vagina sexually appealing compared to a penis and no, I don't find breast sexually appealing compared to a toned and broad male chest. so I have come to a realisation that the reason why I might notice a mascline looking lady is becase she looks like a man. but becasue she is a women it does nothing for me whatsover.

Well yeah the female body is commonly regarded as more beautiful because it is softer and more delicate.

Now what this studies fail to understand is that women whether they're actually aware of it or not, spend their time checking other women out. Not because they find them attractive but because it is a "competition" thing. Women subconsciously know that their looks is the one thing they have to rely on when attracting guys (not the only thing but it does play a huge art)

As a result a lot of women upon seeing other women gauge their attractiveness level, and they can become really good at knowing what is attractive and what isn't;

On the other hand, women do appreciate a guy's body but most of them will agree that it takes more than an attractive body for them to actually be attracted to a guy. Less emphasis is put on a guys's body then, and most of the time when you hear a girl saying she likes *insert weird tastes* about her man, you can bet that isn't because it is attractive in itself but mostly because she finds the guy sexy altogether.

That's not true. Don't misinterpret things.. The male body is just as fascinating if it's well taken care of. & Just because most of us are not as desperate for sex like most of you guys are and don't get wet just by looking at some random naked dude, does not imply the male body is not a turn on.

You guys on the other hand get turned on with just about anything, (That's why there's so much infidelity) they don't even have to be naked! an emoticon even, a moan, a word, someone bends over link and BOING! You guys are weird ... We don't work that way... most times... and it doesn't mean we don't get turned on by the male body. THIS! link is perfect! but I'm not all hot and bothered by it, and no you don't have to look that exaggerated to turn a girl on, it's more about mind stimulation, but having a decent body helps.

& Yeah, Sometimes I look at girls who have amazing worked out bodies, but it's not because it turns me on, rather because I'm fixated on how perfect her body looks... it doesn't mean I want to have sex with her.

1. A woman's way of looking at sexuality, eroticism etc is very different from how a man perceives it

2. While men can be categorized easily into various compartments, women will forever be in the discovery mode (by both men and women themselves)

3. I disagree that women don't find a man's body sex and also that most white women are bi (you won't believe the number of Asian women who are bi but just that the other side of the world is more open about sex and sexuality while out in Asia and Middle East it's taboo)

4. Each woman has her own perception of looking at sex, sexuality, sensuality and eroticism

5. The most common link to every such thing in a woman is a sense of sensuality and romance (there are always exceptions)

6. Nature has made men and women for each other to procreate, therefore it can never be that women aren't attracted to men

7. What puts them off is a brash show of sex and sexuality that is devoid of imagination, sensuality and romance and THAT is the mistake men make, they assume that since men get turned on by a woman showing any part of her skin women too should get turned on that way - MISTAKE ;)

8. Also what makes women (apart from those with natural reasons and causes) more attracted to women again especially after a few bad experiences is their feeling the lack of romance, caring, sensuality etc

my girlfriend's gets turned on by my body. in fact every girlfriend I've had has at least said (and I had no reason not to believe them) that they were very turned on by my body...

I think perhaps in general women aren't turned on by the male form the same way men are turned on by the female form. Like women don't tend to stare or gawk at women who walk the street the way men do but certainly women are turned on by the male body otherwise there would be little need for male models or hunky actors. Guys wouldn't get plastic surgery if they didn't feel like they could be more attractive to women...

so I think in the way men sort of lust for the female body that may be less common in women but it is untrue that women do not find the male body categorically unattractive

I think you are confusing a woman's appreciation for the male form with her willingness to have sex with him.

From what I've noticed, if a woman has an attractive body, 9/10 men will be willing to have sex with her.

However, if a man has an attractive body, a woman may tell him so, but having an attractive body does not automatically make the woman want to have sex. She can be content just looking at it. Also, she doesn't feel the need to tell him that in all cases. For women, just looking can be as good as having sex sometimes.

Women find the male form attractive...we have to, it's biology. But just because it's attractive does not mean we are going to tell you or even act on it.

It's not that simple. There are SO many factors at work here!

Trust me, we LOVE male bodies. Teenage girls nerd out about hot celebrities for a reason! Most women have been raised to be less open about their sexuality, however. And society tells us that women are supposed to be hot.

Which study are you refering to? Unless it's a genuine psychological study, it isn't worth putting any esteem in.

Also... since when are Asian women mostly straight, and white women mostly bisexual? That is the most rediculous thing I've ever heard!

The most important thing here is that yes, heterosexual women are attracted to men. However, men are more visual than women. We are also very in tune with other factors in attraction, such as behavior , voice, movement, etc. Women still like to look at men, still watch p*rn, and all of the same things men do. Just in different ways.

lol I love male bodies however only the muscular one's I am not attracted to overweight men. I can appreciate a guy who is 10-15 lbs over weight but any more than that and he's just lazy a man has to work f***ing hard to get fat cause they have crazy awesome metabolisms. I eat like a horse and I maintain a good figure. There is nothing sexier than a muscular man who grooms himself; trims his nose hair, get's a nice haircut when he needs it wears the right amount of deoderent and cologne. I love guy's with allot of Testosterone and Androgen's square jaws really big turn on. So I'm not sure if you're just talking to allot of people or looking on allot of sites that favor female form certainly the media portray's the female form as more attractive. But personally I'ed take a man over a woman any day. :)

I find a man's body visually appealing but that doesn't make me want to sleep with him. This might sound typical, but the emotional attraction comes first, and only after that does everything about the guy become a turn on. So personality has to be a turn on first, and from there, everything is potentially sexy - a look, a touch, the sound of his voice, etc. The list goes on and can get very trivial.

So it's not that men's bodies aren't attractive, it's just not the first thing that triggers the... desire... from my perspective.

I often think male body-provided the guy is thin , toned and without a lot of hair-is more attractive than the female body. Womens bodies have to store ore fat then men in order to maintain homeostasis . there are benefits to this such as being able to protect the child, having a long endurance- good for running , hiking , long distances, overall strong stamina--good for many activities and women can go much longer without food with less adverse effects than men-- due ATP  metabolism. However, aesthetically it  is unappealing. Womens bodies often have all sorts of curves and lumps and just look too messy for my taste. The type of Womens body I find attractive are often too thin for proper menstrual cycles.

The male body is  a huge turn on but most females will not admit it because of the stigma attached to being sexual. It's not to make men feel bad, it's to preserve their worth in a society that shuns female sexuality. Obviously, not every female is afraid to admit it but so many are.

I don't get it. I think it could be because womens bodies are plastered everywhere and are just used as a symbol for sexiness. So everyone tends to interpret them that way.

Also maybe because Women's bodies are often not left to be natural whereas men's are. I mean like most women shave, moisturize etc... whereas most men don't

Whatever I personally love the male body... give me a picture of big broad shoulders and small narrow hips any day. please!

The penis is not the nicest thing to look at...

If you have a big beer gut/belly...that's not that nice either unless she likes it as a jiggly pillow.

If you have too much back hair or chest hair...then you're a shag carpet.

As long as your body is reasonably big/lean/toned/strong/'manly'...I think you'll be fine?!?

I love a good hard body. But let's face it a naked woman, or a penis? Men's nether regions are not the prettiest thing and women are aesthetically pleasing to look at. But give me a guy with something low slung on showing off some cut lines and keeping his naughty bits covered is quite honestly the hottest thing on the planet.

I watch p*rn and it bothers the hell out of me but they never use sexy men in it or hardly show the man at all. Everywhere it's shown that women have to have the sexy body and men don't have to worry about lookin good. I think most females accept this thus not appreciating a mans body. i think because society and the media really focus on a women's beauty and sexiness rather than a man's body.

for example most pple would rather watch 2 girls make out rather than 2 guys. because we have been conditioned to believing and accepting that women are the thing to lust over.

The female body is soft and shapely. In general, more females than males fit this description. If more males had six packs and were toned, etc. people would find the male body much more attractive. I think it has something to do with the fact that the female body is simply more shapely, with finer contours, than the male body (the breasts and nothing extraneous hanging between the legs).

you are silly. I think looking at a picture of a guy you have never met before shirtless, even if he has a a really nice body and face can be rather dull.
