What does it mean if a guy smiled at you?

I know you're probably thinking, "If a guy smiled at you, it means a guy smiled at you." But the reason I am asking this is because I often see this one guy (I'm in college) and he usually looks at me and smiles when we see each other on campus. Does this meaning anything? At all? Why do guys just smile at random girls? Or is this not random at all? Help guys.

Same thing is going on with a girl on campus as well. Maybe it is me.. 😉 haha. Anyway we always pass by each other because we work in the same building but in different departments. She always tends to smile at me and look at me in the the eyes. In one instance we were in the same room, and we looked at each other again and smiled, but neither of us said anything. Maybe try saying hello next time you see him. Never know, maybe he thinks you are cute!

Would you ever go up to a girl, tell her she is cute, and ask for a hug? Because a guy did that to me once and I didn't know what to make of it. What do you think of that kind of approach?

He was a complete stranger. Never saw him before, let alone met him before. Yeah, it was kind of weird…but I was so stunned, I guess, that I gave him a hug. Maybe I shouldn't have…. Now I see him on campus pretty often.

i would say that he prob does like you! It really does sound like he does! Guys usually just don't go around smiling at every girl he meets. Also if he keeps looking at you its another sign. I would say go for it girl!!

I don't know… It's a friendly, nice smile. I can't say that he cares, because after all he doesn't know me. It is a genuine smile, but still that doesn't make things any easier to figure out. Lol.

No, guys don't smile at random girls.
He finds you attractive or maybe likes you (do you know each other) but it is a very goooooood sign, girl :)
Smile back at him next time, I'm sure he'll approach you

No, we don't know each other. That's why I am not sure what to think. If we did know each other it might be easier to tell. I don't know… Anyway, I see him often because we have a class in the same room, but not at the same time. (Meaning I wait until his class is over and then I go in the room for my class.) And we see each other at the bus stop at school at the same hour.

Yeah, he's obviously attracted, otherwise he won't look and smile is something really important. It is a strong sign of sympathy at least between two people.
Since he's a guy and he looks at you a lot and doesn't know you, we can conclude it's not to be friend hahaha :D

Cleaver girl. In that situation, I'll talk to her. 'Hey, I see you all the time and just have to say I think you're really cute, and I'd like to take you out on a date - maybe even just some coffee or something - what do you think? Wanna give it a shot?' Something to that effect.
