Guys, why do you squeeze a girl when you hug her?

is there any meaning behind a squeeze hug given by a guy?
for exemple after talking to a girl for like 40 minutes (for the first ime, i mean you just met), and you squeeze hug her.

The hug you describe in another comment, a tight squeeze with face burrying, shows intentional intimacy. Either the hugger is seeking to comfort himself with the hug, or is persuing a certain sexual intimacy. But it's the head burrying which is important there.

The squease itself could be playful, comforting, protective, threatening, intimate, or any number of other things depending on other factors.

I think you made quite an impression on him. He must be attracted to you. I think it may come from a desire to fuse with someone. You love that person enough that you would like her to be a part of you somehow. A big tight hug is the closest you can get. It might be a bit odd from a stranger though.

I hug a girl tightly to show her I'm interested in her physically but also emotionally. If it's a looser hug I'm more likely just pursuing a friendship with her.
