My definition of curvy!

I'm going to talk about my definition of curvy, as I feel that many people use this word with another meaning.

Nowadays, many people use curvy as another word for fat, whereas it is not the same! A lot of overweight people to make themselves feel better say they are curvy when they are really just overweight. Curvy has to do with the hip to waist ratio not the weight of the person. So what exactly is considered curvy?

Unlike many people, I don't agree that if a girl has not large boobs, she can't be curvy:

For me, this girl is curvy as her waist is apparently smaller then her hips!

There are different kinds of body shapes which can be curvy:

Guys don´t only like curvy or skinny girls because preferences are not the same.

And others may just like YOU, the way you are.

So dont fight about which body shape is the best, because it gets annoying sometimes.

No, that's silly, what I did was I started working on myself, eating and living healthier and working out, I've reached the point where women really start to find me attractive and it's awesome.

If you're overweight, there's a difference between a negative 'feeling insecure about your body' (e. g. "I'm hideous nobody will ever love me"), and recognizing where you should work on your body (e. g. "I am generally happy with myself and confident, but I recognize I am overweight to the point that it doesn't look good and could seriously threaten my life with major health problems such as diabetes or cancer").

It's flawed thinking to simply accept poor health and unattractiveness, in the name of some goal of 'not feeling insecure'. The best way to feel less insecure is to simply lose weight. And the good news is, that isn't even as hard as people make it out to be... start by dropping sugar and cutting carbs by half, you'll possibly start losing weight already. You can start today.

Some girls naturally have no boobs or butts- I dont think they all should be having implants to be liked from the guys, because some men will surely like them.

I call myself curvy and it's not to make myself feel better. Am I overweight? Yup. Do I have curves? Yup. My waist is smaller than my hips. Which is what I see a lot of people saying when they talk about curvy. Is my stomach flat? Nope. So does that mean I can't refer to myself as curvy? According to 99% of people on this site, I can't. Luckily, I don't too much give a shit what people think. This curvy fat girl will refer to herself as whatever she wants. Thanks.

Well thats not a bad thing. I'm not saying that u hav to be curvy to be attractive, but it is easier to STILL get attention from guys, wether u r overweight OR underweight. U should still take care of your body, but its like the same things for guys who hav an inverted triangle shape, u can go a little easier on your body and still be considered attractive.

I agree! You can be "skinny curvy" like that second picture. I don't get how people think you must have a complete hourglass figure to be considered curvy. OR, most commonly, that you have to be almost overweight.

I believe the word "curvy" has been hijacked so that now it often means "overweight." When I was in my twenties (back when there were dinosaurs), the word "curvy" required no further explanation. Now it does.

This is always a very controversial topic, but I'd also like to add that there's some women who don't have an hour glass figure and who are not very thin and I'd be curius to find what they fall under. Also, having big boobs doesn't make you curvy.

I always say curvy is a shape not a weight. ;) so many people think curves equal fat but no, it's about how many inches are between the top of the pelvis (hips) and the bottom of the rib cage. The wider the gap, the bigger the curves, even you're skinny as a rail. In essence, you have curves from your bone structue genes, not how much you eat and exercise.

I always say I have curves because I have boobs, butt and hips but not big hips, I think I'm kinda like Marylin Monroe.
In my mind curvy means having curves, and when you are fat, you don't have curves, because your bust, boobs, hips, belly, butt, legs are all equal, like you don't see the difference between them. You are a H not a 8 with curves.

Agree that there are many ways to define curvy. I like big and curvy which to me means there is meat on the bones a bigger tummy, butt and thighs but curves too so that there is a figure.

The one you are calling fat also has curves. I ADORE big curvy women.

the best people to determine the proper weight/shape classes are people who know what they're talking about, fitness instructors, gymnists, photographers, etc etc, or even just "fit" people

Some women are naturally very lean like VS models. Trust me, we know guys go crazy over tits and ass. We also know some guys like thin girls. I think for the most part we understand what guys like. But what about those girls that are naturally thin? Remarks like the one you just made don't make women feel any better, obviously, look at the downvotes. Whether society is saying only super thin girls or super curvy girls are hot, girls are still being put down. Because not every girl fits those ideals. What we need to say is that there are men out there who will appreciate every body type. Whether its Vs model skinny, curvy, chubby, anything in between etc etc.
