Is There a proper for a man to inform a woman that she has what appears to be period blood on her jeans?

Is there a proper way for a man to tell a woman that without seeming gross? Also, if a man told you this, would be grateful or mad at him? Help a clueless yet well meaning dude out. :)

Errmm good one.. I would have to tell her. But do my best to protect her dignity, maybe offer my jumper to tie round her waist.. I couldn't just walk away knowing she would have to put up with that thought that the whole world was looking at her... no way
