Can somebody give me dieting advice?

I asked my very skinny and fit doctor to give me advice about weight loss and he told me to eat from a 5 inch bowl 4 times a day. My question is - what do I fill the 5 inch bowl with?

This is my idea so far: Everyday I will eat

a) 2 five inch bowls of vegetable mix at the grocery store
b) 1 five inch bowl of meat
c) 1 five inch bowl of egg tempura mixed with milk

Is this a healthy diet? I chose this because it is cheap and I am eating on a budget.

If I have extra money I will buy fruits such as avocados / strawberries / tomato juice etc...

Do you think I should replace the egg tempura with green leaves instead?
Can somebody give me dieting advice?
