Some of the responses are right on point, but here is more info-
1- Like the girl below said, get exterminators and fumigate your house, that's #1 cause, change all your sheets, clothes etc. Get them all washed in bleach and super hot water or throw them out... don't buy new ones yet.
2- This is an old school remedy, my grandma used to do it to my cousins-
Put mouthwash in a spray bottle, soak hair in it. Put a shower cap on and leave it sit for at least an hour. Rinse mouthwash out of hair and shampoo with Suave Coconut shampoo and conditioner. Scrub scalp very good with the shampoo, rinse out. You can actually see these nasty bugs come right out of the hair, dead. After the hair is rinsed, blow dry it just as an extra precaution. After this process, put white vinegar in a spray bottle and soak hair with vinegar. Let sit for at least an hour and a half - the longer the better- with a shower cap on. After time is up scrub head again with shampoo and conditioner. Blow dry hair and straighten if possible. The vinegar dissolves the nits and the glue that holds them on. Anything that is left on the hair is flat and dead. Repeat this process one week later just to make sure. Make sure to either dispose of your brushes and hair things or boil them to make sure any bugs are off. I hope this helps!!

Shave *everything*.
It's gotten a bit more acceptable for women to have no hair. If you can't stand talking about the lice, do it in support of breast cancer.
I hate the idea of even cutting my hair, but I decided long ago that if I got lice, it'd all go.
There are combs that can help... some... Good luck, one way or another!
Ancient civilizations used to shave everything... but before you do that, have you guys gotten an exterminator or specialist to come to the house?
I had bed bugs once which isn't the same things at all, but I had to get an exterminator to come in and deal with it.
Have you've done research on the internet for great remedies for it?
Try apple cider vinegar. I don't know much lice but I believe since apple cider vinegar is acidic, it'll kill of the lice. Just dilute it in water and try rising it with your conditioner

there are some medications for lice but you can not find help here, you need to go to a specialist to give you those. and shave your head for some months to keep it cleaner.
Throw out all bedding and cloth covered furniture and have the home fumigated. Then go to a hotel and use the lice shampoo and meds on everyone. Fuck living like that.
