What to do with a snoring spouse?

My husband goes through spurts where he snores TERRIBLY... and I fear it's starting to cause a bit of resentment; not becuase it's something he can help per say... but because he's seemed to stop caring to try and find a way to remedy it and that he seems okay that I have to get up and sleep on the couch.

I feel like I haven't slept in weeks. I usually lightly move his arm if he's snoring and he'll stop for 30 seconds.. then start right back up. If I have to nudge him more than 3 times, I just get up and sleep on the couch... which is terribly uncomfortable.

I certaily don't want to make him feel embarrassed by his snoring, but I want him to take it seriously so he tries to get it under control. Not just for the sake of us being able to sleep in the same bed (I'm not above separate bedrooms once we are out of our tiny apartment) but also for his health. I hear snoreres have an increased risk of heart attack and stroke. His weight is fine, so I'm not sure what words I need to say so he does something about it.
