Anxiety gets the best of us. I struggle with mild social anxiety all the time, and feel my heart pulsating in nervous situations. I've always had a similar experience to what you're explaining when I had my first and last time with MDMA during the downs. Take deep breaths, hold them, and then let go. Rhythmic breathing does wonders. Be aware of the thoughts going on in your head. Don't put yourself down if that is what you're doing, and try to redirect them to things like "I can do this", "there's no need to rush", "I'm not the only one who feels this way". Reach out to friends and family to talk to. Sometimes all you need is to let out some stress.
When I'm feeling particularly anxious, especially during exam time or when a bunch of big assignments are due, I've found that being sure to make time for a quality workout at the gym has been a godsend.
Even if I go there for just 45 minutes, I always feel a million times better after. More relaxed, happier, plus thinking much more clearly. :)
