How to fall asleep?

I can't sleep rn, I have really bad shoulder pain rn, i can't lay on my sides, Its 5 am, and I have been trying to go to sleep for 3 hours...

I just saw a 3 hour movie and still couldnt sleep because the pain, I took so much ibuprofen and applied ice to my shoulders. but nothing is really working

What are techniques you use to fall asleep?

Maybe you could try some warmth instead of ice on your shoulder.
PMR (Progressive Muscle Relaxation) could also help to relax. Tense up your muscles starting from your feet and work your way up. For example press your right leg down into your mattress. Hold a few seconds (7-10?) remember to breathe. Relax. Do the same with your other leg, butt, spine, arms, shoulders, neck. Focus on your breathing.

Try to force yourself to stay up ad long as possible, it's reverse psychology and you'll fall asleep really fast.

I think if it's muscle pain you're having you need to apply heat rather than ice. Take some paracetamol at the same time as the ibuprofen too because they don't interact. Sorry you're hurting man :(
