Buy a book on how to play blackjack. That game gives you the best odds or you can play the poker slots but again buy a book on how to play that game. It's not as simple as it sounds.
The newer casinos usually have a $15 minimum bid so go to an older one where the tables are still $5.
I disagree with most of the other answers as Vegas is a great place to see.
The rooms are usually inexpensive & the food is fairly inexpensive too.
Make sure you set a limit on how much you can afford to loose each day & spend the rest of the time sightseeing or people watching.
It's an experience. I wouldn't go every year but there is always something to see. Just walking down LasVegas blvd is quite a sight.

LOL
I have never been to Vegas yet in my whole life, but I went to NYC, Mexico DC, Paris, London, Roma, Madrid, Vienna and a lot more.
I'll probably die without seeing Las Vegas and I don't care at all.
am I a pathetic loser?
You realize this question is ridiculous? It wouldn't be possible for EVERYONE to go Vegas when they turn 21 logistically. If your question was "I've never been to a bar or a casino etc" then maybe it'd be legit, but going to Vegas does not make you "cool"!
who cares? its not like seeing vegas is an accomplishmet you MUST do.

Going to Vegas isn't some right of passage into drinking age and adult years. Yes it's a good place to party, but it's not like everyone has to go when they turn 21. I wouldn't beat yourself up for it.
I have never been to Vegas, so I don't understand your gripes.
