Just curious, I'm not but could if I wanted to
Why are you one, is it because of
Animal Cruelty
Health
Religion
Own Choice
And do you eat fish, as that's not technically vegetrainisn't it(i'm not sure)
i started my journey down this road in 7th or 8th grade. at first I just cut out red meat and chicken then I was pescetarian (only eating fish as far as meat flesh goes - that's what it means lol) for a few years, then I went vegan early in my first year of college, so its been about almost 4 years now that I've been vegan.
I still slip up every now and then but I try my best to stay the course.
Its all about animal rights and ethics for me. its true that a plant based diet may be much healthier on average, but I know that you can be healthy on a diet that incorporates meat, its just that people in this country general don't get the best quality meat, don't have great lifestyles and diets to begin with, etc. its more about our culture and the way the animals are treated (so, ironically treatment of animals does affect food you eat - incentive to be as concernced as I am about it!)
i want veganism to become more popular and a more commonly chosen lifestyle but its not the simple act of eating meat that turns me off. I would never go back to it myself, but I would be happy if people just started giving a sh*t about how our fellow animals are being treated. they go through appalling abuse and its so heart breaking to me. I just don't understand how people don't care. if enough people got pissed off and started taking action, the standards could change drastically. animals could be allowed to live better lives and they would be treated humanely. have your meat, but don't be selfish and callous and heartless about how it got onto your plate and don't sit in my face and say you care when you really dont. I hate that sh*t. lol just be honest that you don't care about anything other than humans, ill tell you I think you're a bitch, and we can move on. there's too much bullsh*t in the atmosphere these days. meh.
anyway I'm trying to fix the health aspect of my diet. I know how to eat healthily, sort of, but I'm so used to eating, not necessarily unhealthily, but too much of what I don't need. So I guess that's unhealthy, yeah. ha. I'm fat. yes, I'm a fat vegan. lol most people don't see that one coming. I got this way growing up eating too many cheeseburgers and candy as a kid (my dad never said "no" - thanks pops ) and its my lifestyle that needs to change. for example, I live in nyc and I barely walk anywhere. bus, subway, cabs. that's the key. its all too true that most people who go vegetarian or vegan lose weight and slip into it for health benefits, but there has to be something there to begin with. I eat too many f***ing carbs and I don't like sweat or exercise. I'm lazy. And, living in such a vegan friendly city, with so many restaurants and vegan snacks everywhere, isn't helping either. (eating vegan donut right now. nom nom) being vegan is all about my heart, it has nothing to do with my health by intention. I need to change though, for myself. plus, I'm not exactly a good rep for the veg community. I need to be less jiggly.
Yeah I agree with the animal cruelty
It's got better but still it's not very good
I like vegetarian food and I try to avoid meat as much as possible. But I think it is rude if you go to someone's house and they have prepared a meal and then not eat it so I eat meat from time to time. Also if you go out it is hard to find a good vegetarian option.
I try to avoid meat because I like vegetarian food, health benefits, animal rights, environmental effects etc. I eat fish every now and then as well.
Align yourself if you will with the perverse and stinking sea of human sewage casting itself Vegans and Pescatarians (whoever the hell they are!). They who avoid at all cost any hint of disrespect to all bearing benefit of facial visage, yet breach no compuction whatever in ripping an unsuspecting corn ear from its stalk as the family remnant gnashes bitter teeth, mourning a father so cruelly masticised even as they look on in unabating horror!; or visciously tearing the flesh from a passive stalk of celery, draining its life-blood, callously abiding the tears and muted cries of an orphaned progeny. Some friends you've chosen!
I was a pesco-vegetarian for five years. Basically I had been eating crappy white person food all my life and needed a clean break. But now I enjoy all sorts of meat, thank god.

Fish are animals. I get pissed when people say they aren't, just because they aren't on land doesn't mean they aren't animals. I do it for health reasons.
Also for the fish thing ask yourself this:
What is a fish - is it a plant, animal, living bacteria?
Does it have eyes?
How does it reproduce?
Does it breathe?
Does it have blood?
Does it have organs?
I've thought about being a veggie but I love meat too much *_* though I still feel sorry for the animals
im not sure how people don't eat meat? its the best type of food.
yeah I m :) , I don't eat even eggs :)
