Am I too skinny? Is being skinny a turn off, for guys?

I read lots of things in this site and it seems like skinny girls it's a turn off because you don't have nothing to grab on among other things, are there any vantages of dating a skinny girl? And do I need to gain weight.

I don't have a fat metabolism or nothing like that but I just hate junk food, sweets and sodas, so I actually like eating vegetables and fruits.

It depends on what KIND of skinny. There's athletic skinny, which is when a girl is skinny but toned because she's fit and very active, which is extremely attractive. But if you're skinny because you're just plain skinny and it's just how you're built, that isn't really a turnon to me.

The thing is, I don't really like a look that I would describe as "delicate." Many people associate delicate with femininity. I, however, do not associate delicate with being feminine. I associate it with weakness, with frailty. Basically, you can be thin without looking delicate if you tone yourself up. And that look can be attractive. But when a girl has legs so thin that they don't really look like they can support the weight of her torso, that's pretty... creepy.

My personal opinion, anyway.

Do you need to gain weight? Don't let anyone on this forum answer that question for you because you should be asking your doctor that. If your doctor tells you that you are underweight and need to put on 10 lbs to get healthy, do it. But if a guy tells you you need to put on 10 lbs to be sexy, screw him. Never, ever, EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER change yourself for a man or to be attractive to a man. Because for every guy who doesn't like your look, there's another who is head over heels for it. By embracing who you are and not allowing men to influence how you present yourself, you are ensuring you are more likely to only attract COMPATIBLE men. And really, isn't that what it's all about? There's no sense in trying to change your look to go for a broader appeal because all you'll end up doing is attracting a bunch of incompatible guys who you'll have to turn away (or run from) anyway.

If you want to eliminate the hassle of having to filter through dozens of guys who aren't compatible to find one who is, then don't change yourself to broaden your appeal. Embrace who you are!

What is really important, is that the woman look healthy. A woman that looks like she is about to die, is not attractive to most guys. What body shape guys prefer, depends on each guy. Some prefer really skinny, and some don't. Even if you are not a mans ideal body shape, he will still be willing to go out with you. I mean, you are not so shallow that you would dismiss a man, just because he is not your ideal body shape.

Beautiful woman can come in many different shapes, and yes you are a beautiful woman. Don't worry about your weight. As long as you are healthy, lots of men will continue to find you attractive.

You're skinny because of your genetics, your good nutrition & fast metabolism. There's nothing to feel ashamed about... It's not like you have an eating disorder and are starving yourself. You sound like you have a healthy body & mind. Most guys would not be turned off by your body. And if they are, they clearly aren't the guy for you. So why bother worrying about someone who doesn't want you for you?

She's right. You're just built to be skinny. You're what's referred to as a "hardgainer" in the bodybuilding world which means that even if you did try to bulk up with weights it wouldn't really work. You'd get ripped and defined, but you wouldn't really add size.

You have what's called an ectomorph body type which means you're naturally slender with a fast acting metabolism. You're naturally built to excel at activities that require a high degree of endurance, such as distance running, but aren't ideal for things that require short bursts of high power like sprinting. The opposite of you would be mesomorph. They're naturally built to be bulky and add on muscle easily (and fat if they get lazy)and are ideal for short bursts of power but crap for endurance

I'm a mesomorph which means it's easy for me to build muscle but it's also easy for me to get fat if I stop exercising. As a mesomorph I'm gonna be big regardless of what I do, my only choice is whether I want the size to come from fat or muscle or a mixture of both. Which are you, Tia?

There's also endomorph which are people who add fat easily but don't lose it easily. And they don't add muscle easily either. Basically they're the most unfortunate of the 3 body types. Keeping from getting fat is a struggle to them because their body hoardes every single ounce of fat they ingest but spits the protein (which fuels muscle gain) out without digesting/absorbing it. Basically, they're genetically built to be fat & out of shape. =(

Based on your pics I would say you're an endo/meso hybrid. You have the potential to be a well rounded jack-of-all-trades athlete and your body doesn't gain fat as easily as many other girls, but you're still capable of gaining it. You're also capable of gaining muscle but not to the degree of bodybuilders, and it'll always be hidden by a little layer of fat that's just barely thick enough to keep you from looking ripped/shredded. That's my assessment, anyway.

im skinny too and don't worry about it I was once worried but everyone comes up to me and asks what I do to stay skinny and in shape I did vball and track and xc but I also get a LOT! its probably unattractive but I eat a pizza by myself and I eat sweets all the time but I love fruit so I will have a couple bowls of that for dinner lol people can't believe it...i have tried to gain a little weight but I can't :/ but be happy your skinny!

Yeah you do seem to be really thin but it's definitely not a turn off. Unless she's anorexic or something but honestly rather thin then chubby for me. Not that I'll ever reject a girl because she's chubby but generally speaking I prefer skinny. You only need to gain weight if YOU want to. Don't let society make you want to be a certain way. And hell yeah veggies and fruit are the best.
