Do you guys like girls on a diet?!

i work at joes crab shack as a server, so then I had this couple that were arguing. he was mad at the fact that he took her out to eat there and she only ordered a water and a SIDE salad. blah blah.

i kinda do understand the guy. I mean, if she was on a diet, just tell the poor guy you can't go out to eat, that if you do, you'll probaby gonna just get a salad warning him you know. simple! idk. it was funny tho.

Having been on a diet (before falling off) I've got to disagree with the guy here. Staying on a diet is HARD if you don't stick with it. What got me off my diet was taking a little "break" every now and then until the "breaks" became my full-time diet. And I got so much hassle from my friends over me not wanting to eat at places that had nothing healthy, like fast food joints. That kind of social pressure *also* helps kill a diet's discipline.

So, I'm going to come down on her side. It's her body, and she should be commended for trying to eat healthy. He's being a controlling jackass if he wants to dictate to her what she should and shouldn't eat in his presence. Like the fact that he took her there means that she should bend over backwards in graciousness to accept the wonderful magnanimity of his decision that she should eat fried fish or whatever.

The problem in that relationship is very much about communication and control. She wants to eat one type of food. He wants to eat another, and he feels threatened if she isn't joining him in his lifestyle choices (especially since hers are more sensible). That's just a mess waiting to happen, and I'll bet money that's not the only thing they fight over.

i like a girl whos confidant enough in herself to not be dieting 24/7. I mean if its jus a short thing then its fine, but to me girls who are way too concerned about their eating is a turn off. it makes them come out as insecure and really superficial. at least to me, I can't speak for all guys. A girl that can eat is what I like. (not stuffing her face but eating as much as me or a little bit less)

I think that's really rude to put the guy to the trouble to take you to a nice restaurant and then just order a salad and water! Way to ruin a date lol!

Every guy I've dated has said that he likes to see the girl EAT. I'm a very health-conscious person, but if I have a tight dress I need to fit into the next day and don't want to pig out, I'll just make sure that I don't eat too much the rest of the day. Problem solved--I can go to dinner with the guy and have a full meal together with him without busting a diet lol. I don't eat HUGE quantities of food, but I DO eat!

Interesting though how thoughtless some people can be. I don't know what she was thinking!

yeah its kinda bad that he took her to the restraunt because I know how hard staying on a diet is when you eventually "give yourself a little break" becomes in too "oh f*** this, I'll eat whatever the fck I want" so it breaks the whole diet thing. And I tired it but it was working until my sister bought me fatty snacks and ruiened it for me. So if she didn't wanna eat at a restraunt then why wouldn't she tell him?

actually its weird, I was hooking up with my really good friend and every time we went out he'd make comments that I didn't eat enough and it worried him, he thought I was too skinny, blahblahblah...so I mean my eating habits did annoy/worry him but he still liked me

Nope. . . I do not like girls on a diet.

Not even mentioning diets don't work. It is quite a fact. . . Yes you will loose weight fast but you'll get that back in no time.

Correct way to loose weight is just eat healthy normal food and just exercise more. . . Lol trust me. . IT ACTUALLY WORKS! (sarcasm).

If I go out with a girl for a dinner or lunch (whatever). Part of . . .the lets call it a ''date''. . . Is to have someone as company for you while you enjoy your meal etc.

It kinda sucks when you're enjoying something delicious when your company eats salad with water. . . That's like. . . You serious :D?

So eat normal food (treat yourself with sweeties time to time) + exercise.

The weight will start dropping before you notice it!

A skinny guy is not going to be able to relate to the dietary problems of an overweight girl. He just wants her to enjoy herself and have a good time. After all, he's paying for it, right?

But here is something to consider: he wouldn't be taking her out unless he didn't care about her weight. So maybe she should relax.

Honestly I don't know why guys care. Would it have made a difference if she ordered a steak? It's not going in his stomach and he's actually paying less. But I don't know I'm not a guy.

I don't get how (some) guys want their girls to look a certain way but get weird if we're on a diet. You don't get to be a size 2 eating steak and potatoes everyday.
