This is both ridiculous and hilarious but my sister and her boyfriend asked this at the doctor. She (as well as myself) have large muscular calves. He has tiny little thin things with none at all. She wanted to lose, he wanted to gain.
The doctor told them that they can't do anything about it. It's due to how the muscle and bone join one another as to how it looks.
With running and a pair of heels mine look slightly less mannish, but for boots we're unfortunately stuck with it :(

Haha I went to a shoe store and I was trying on boots and the guy was like "well maybe you should try the Hunter 'Huntress' collection. It's made for women with large calves like you. Hahahha ooohh god :(
You know where I find decent boots? Value Village. The ones that are old (and you'll find ones in fantastic condition) seem to be made a lot larger in the calf region.

There really isn't much you can do. For whatever reason the muscle is there. I have the same problem, my calves are incredibly toned and that's just how they are.

Ok... to answer, your muscle is there now, because your body has adapted to the more intense lifestyle (elliptical workout)
So do nothing. Your muscle will again adapt and shrink.
Btw, doing lower resistance will not because you to gain more muscle, or lose muscle. It's a method of "maintaining" muscle. Clearly you don't want that. So stop doing anything involving that muscle. Like walking.
I've got a better, and actually physically possible solution: buy new, bigger winter boots and keep your legs looking good.
Spot removal is impossible, both when it comes to muscle and fat.

I don't really know how to reduce muscle without under eating, and I wouldn't suggest that. Stretching helps though. If I didn't stretch a lot my calves would be bulky.
You got muscle because you got fit. Before you had none and you were weak. Now you're not weak. I suggest buying new boots. Guys love that look anyway =)
i love girls with nice tone legs and calves..so don't trip about it because some guys find it attractive
