That is the exact product I bought. Also inside it doesn't look al white and powdery on the inside. Part of why I think it's not done yet. So can anyone help?
MOCHI!
I just stumbled by this question and I happen to be half Japanese, so I know what you're talking about.
I've personally never liked mochi, but no, you do not cook it. I've made it before, they do it at celebrations. People take turns kneading it with a huge wooden hammer-looking thing (forgot what it's called) while someone adds water and flour.
wow. So it's supposed to taste like this? It's supposed to be all chewy like uncooked dough?
It's chewy. They often put stuff on it or in your case, in it. So yes, it is supposed to taste like that.
Wow. I don't like it. I don't think I'll be buying that again.
Haha, I don't like it either. I don't get why my mom and her parents (my grandparents) like it.
Tradition?
Maybe. Or it could be what they call an 'acquired taste'.
link just googled a link
I've heard it's one of the most chewiest things to eat, a lot of people choke and die eating it every year
Seriously?
