I'd take the therapy. I want to get as much out of life as possible. I've actually been in a similar situation- when I was 11 I thought I was going to die from severe chronic lyme's disease, but I could go on ivs that would potentially give me more time. I took them and by some miricle I pulled through and now at 16 I still have lyme but I'm doing much better and am finally beginning to live a normal life :)

If I'm meant to die then I die. Not to sound all negative but I think I would let fate play it's part and spend the rest of my time alive asking God for forgiveness and try to appreciate my friends and family and have the best times with them. Instead of stressing and suffering with a treatment that will only keep me alive for a year, I'd rather due stress free and happy.
I'll take the 5 months. I could get a lot more done with my life in those 5 months than I could suffering and wondering, not to mention having time to get my affairs in order, too.

My girlfriend had this choice. The first two times she took the Chemo and it worked for five years. This last time, they didn't offer it to her.
Thing is you might get a good result from the therapy but you're not going to get a good result without it.Number one , because I'm going to be pretty much in denial and I will still have hope that they find a cure ( crazy I know )
I'd take #2 every time.
