And which ones are your favorite? :)
What are the most annoying sounding languages?
And which ones are your favorite? :)
well, let's see...let me start by saying that none of this is racially-based. it's a great question, but a dangerous one, haha.
koreans always seem to be screaming, and so are the chinese, although I admittedly don't know the difference between mandarin and cantonese. pretty much any language that requires yelling bothers me. so I guess arabic probably falls under that too. german sounds like a cat coughing up a hairball. and even though french is supposed to be a romance language, I really don't like it...but maybe that's because I had to take it in school, haha. russian I'm kind of neutral on...i kind of like it, but I think all the cold war era American TV and movies I grew up on have made me subconsciously associate it with something sinister, haha.
for the ones I like: spanish, portuguese, and italian, although italian-Americans piss me off, haha. not the majority of them, just guidos and/or flag-waving, gold-chain-wearing, fake tough guys named sal or vinny that insist on calling spaghetti sauce "gravy", and drop the last vowel when they put the fake accent on when they say the names of italian foods. "hey, anthony! go to the GENOVESE and pick me up some PEPPERON' and some SALSICC' and some MOOOS-A-RELL'..." but then just go right back to talking like a d!ckhead, haha. REAL italians and normal italian-Americans that are just named marino or some sh*t are straight, haha. but whatever, I'm of scottish and English heritage...sheep-f*cking drunks with bad teeth and worse food. hahaha, I kid, I kid...
so as far as most of our native tongue, that you'd probably have to break down to dialects/accents. for English, I like: general American, British, Irish, Scottish (it's kind of abrasive, but I like it...must be in my genes), Jamaican, Canadian, Upper Midwest American (kinda goofy, but I still like it), and of course, my very own Boston accent, mostly because the out of town college girls always say stuff to me like "like, oh my god...you talk just like mark wahlberg in the departed, that's so sexy...", hahaha. fortunately, it's hot in the streets the last 8 years or so, because when push comes to shove, we really talk like a bunch of idiots, haha.
the one I'm iffy on is the American Southern accent. definition of hit-or-miss. it's either super-charming or super-annoying. I don't have it down by the region, which is probably what makes the difference. maybe a southerner can fill us in on that.
best accent EVER: black folks from the Oakland/San Francisco area. the rapper E-40 is a prime example. I don't care for his music too much, but I'd buy an album of just him saying ridiculous slang in his opposite-of-boston, OVER-pronounced-R's accent. "Git youRRR maRRRbles regaRRRdless, playboy. you gotta keep the vegetables in the crispeRRR section of youRRR refrigeRRRatoRRR and keep youRRR papeRRR real crinkly-like, you readin' me, Weeble?" hahaha, just amazing.
damn, this is long. if that ain't thorough, I don't know what is.
hahaha fantastic answer. :)
haha, thanks...i just call it like I see it...or hear it, in this case.
I don't really care for Japanese. It sounds puny (most of the time, sometimes it sounds badass in old samurai movies and stuff) and just like a bunch of blah. Also, the language they speak on Geonosis in Star Wars is kind of annoying :D
As for my faves, I'd probably say Russian, German, Italian, and French (only sometimes though). Russian and German are masculine languages, with Russian sounding like the sharper one and German having this certain type of professional or strict, but flowing, sound to it. Italian is just really rhythmic and softer sounding. French is just a blur of words together, but on certain people it sounds good (mainly women).
When I hear Arabic, I fear for my life D:
lol :)
I have yet to come across a language that I don't like but I think it will soon be English. Now don't get me wrong English is an alright language, I am from England and it was my first language but sometimes I find it so boring. I speak German which is an alright language too, French which is a beautiful language and Arabic which is interesting, I also know a fair amount of Arabic too. I love the sound of spanish and Hindi.
It usually depends on how it's spoken, rather than the language itself. German/Dutch can be quite overbearing with all the hacking and weird accents, but even then I grew quite accustomed to it in the Netherlands. I think all languages have beauty to them, some just more than others :P
:D
LOL MWAH! <333
favorites to listen to, Bavarian German, French, Korean, Japanese, Gaelic
annoying to listen to, Hebrew, Berlin German...I'm sure I'll think of more later.

Indian is hilarious. GORD GORD GORD MY FRIEND hahaha. Russian is pretty BA. Hawaii has the coolest native language though, in my opinion.
I think the most annoying is Japanese spoken in a polite, sing-song female voice.
Strangely enough, my favorite is Japanese when spoken in an angry male voice.
This makes it very difficult for me to watch anime.
I'm surprised how many people like gaelic lol, since it's my second language after English. I don't think any of them sound annoying really, chinese I think might get kinda irritating. I find accents irritate me more than a language does
Hangul, the Korean language. It's long and dragged out and sounds like every word is being spoken by a really sleepy person.
I like Japanese, sounds so cool. Russian is cool too.
The most annoying language to me is Hindi. It's just so weird. I love Japanese, Korean & Spanish! I'm currently learning all three. Yeah me!
German is annoying.
Chinese, Japanese, Gaelic, Spanish (althoug that gets annoying too), and a few others are my favorites.
Gonna go with Russian. :-P
Chinese
Gibberish.
