I am afraid to be in aquariums. I think sea creatures are beautiful, but I went to an aquarium for the first time when I was 14 and I was tensed the whole time. I couldn't stop freaking out and I would constantly check the distance from the exit. There was the water tunnel with all the fish in it and I had to hold my breath while walking through it which I did pretty fast. I never went anywhere near the glass because I thought it would burst. And after I went home I had a nightmare about the aquarium and haven't been back since. (I'm almost 16) I'm not afraid of the sea creatures (some) I know because I walked around sea world and wasn't scared. (didn't go into the aquariums) and I watched some of the animals do tricks and I even saw shamoo's show. I'm also not afraid of water I love swimming and think the water is better the deeper it is. But there's something about aquariums that scare me. Is it a real fear or am I just weird?
There isn't a word to describe a "fear of aquariums".
You know, other than "fear of aquariums".
If you're looking for some sort of "aquariaphobia" type of word, it doesn't exist.
