Most anime characters aren't even blonde girls. Its common for cartoons, anime, or even storybook characters to have large eyes. Its more cute and expressive. Its not an obsession its an art style. Bye.

Blonde hair is uncommon in Japan, so the blond characters in anime tend to be important, unusual, or quirky characters, to make them stand out. And anime characters tend to have big eyes anyway, to show emotion - and girls' big eyes tend to show innocence and femininity.
