Or are certain mixed race combinations beneficial while others are harmful?

For instance, Asian & Caucasian being beneficial versus African(American) & Caucasian, which is typically seen as "bad"?

I'm biracial myself, so I don't ask this to be offensive. I ask because I know the GaG community is oh so open minded regarding race relations *sarcasm* & I was looking for tough behind the screen opinions

Haha, someone who spends their time browsing stormfront.. *claps hands* you sound more like a troll. No it isn't beneficial irrespective to the combination. Culture also greatly effects how people behave as well. When someone has an established identity, you're going to have one hell of a time changing it. It would be like asking someone to change their personality, it doesn't happen. So either you destroy all identities by mixing, and destroy the whole idea of 'multiculturalism' or you simply respect differences and live in a homogeneous state. Your generalization fallacy doesn't really say much about you either , except you're hard headed and already biased.

All in all, if you have to destroy differences to make things work, then why even bother with diversity? Most of this seems to be motivated by self hate. I don't find any justification for it. If you truly believe all people are equal, than they are all equally capable of fixing their own countries and getting their sh*t together. To suggest they can't, is to suggest equality does not exist,thus destroying the point in them coming into the country to begin with. We, as people, are not entitled to anything, however, taking care of your family is different. One isn't any more a "hater" for not feeding a homeless man and bringing him into his house or even a stranger for that matter, than someone who refuses to allow foreigners into the country. Emotional view points aren't logical ones. Many like to say "we're all humans it doesn't matter", so are rapists, sociopaths, murderers, burglars, and others, but I don't suggest they need a nice bed,good food or other things when they don't deserve it. A lot of the time, people hire others for the sake of their race, not because of what they can provide, same thing applies to colleges, however that is changing.

In case you or anyone else is not aware, that is a well known hate group website for KKK, Neo-Nazi and other lesser known supremacist groups.

Stay off that site, it's nothing but a hate blog, and aside from that the FBI tracks everyone person that visits any page on that site and then links you to the group's ever increasing investigative file.

With that, I think that mixed race relationships are great, they shouldn't be frowned upon at all. But I respect people who believe that staying within their ethnic group (not race) is necessary to carry on their culture.

I think, for the people who are so dead-set on having a "pure" race, they ought to breed. Simply because there will be an eventual lack in diversity in their genes, and one day, their children will no longer be viable. Let them bring themselves to the end they are trying to escape.

I really don't care which race mixes with what. Diverse genes are more important than color, and studies show people with a mixed ethnic background are perceived as more attractive in general. Diversity is beautiful.

If we really want to go into the animal kingdom for examples, let's look at dog breeds, not crossing species. All dogs are dogs. Some are pure bred, some are mixed. We're finding more and more that pure bred puppies are either born with problems or develop issues throughout life and it's due to a lack of diverse genes. The gene pool is getting stagnant. German Shepherds are known for having hip problems. Miniature Schnauzers often have liver and digestive issues. Where as mutts are being found to live longer, healthier lives.

A Caucasian person is not a different species of human from an African/African American person. We're not discussing a matter of lions and tigers, or a matter of plants and animals. Let's be a little less ridiculous, people.

oh my... that link is so...disturbing :/ personally, I don't think race mixing is good or bad. it just 'is.' from a biological standpoint, race mixing increases the heterozygosity of the genes, which is a good thing in terms of survival (though for certain traits, I'm sure the homozygous alternatives may be better). overall though, increasing diversity in the gene pool is supposed to be a good thing. in terms of society and culture, I'm not so sure. lots of times traditions and religious beliefs get muddled and diluted leading to confusion amongst the kids- which is what I've seen in myself and my friends that are mixed. also, there is a great deal of stigma regarding mixed couples... I've gotten stared down by a few people when I was on dates with someone who didn't 'look' like myself. one of my ex's parents pretty much told him to stop seeing me when they realized I was part arab. who knows...maybe having more interracial relationships can help with lessening the stigma...or maybe it'll just make things worse.

'white' is not a cultural heritage. My kids are a mix of Scottish, English, Slovak and Irish. There is nothing magical about passing them Gaelic and Slovak tradition vs Gaelic and west African, if that were their mix.

Even if we wanted to stay 'pure' at what point, exactly, should things has remained pure? Like there were Britons who got mixed with Saxons and aEnglish and then a bunch of Normans ... Was that then right there the moment to be saved forever?

Ethnicity and heritage have always been fluid and evolving.

That is the race and people who worry about keeping their race "pure" I think shouldn't be worrying because we are all homo sapiens. Also, people who are mixed tend to be beautiful! (at least in most of the mixed people I know it is true)

sometimes. it depends on a lot of biological, language, familial, and cultural compatibility. white and Asian are very compatible (benefitial) biologically (specifically ashkenazi jews and asians). Everything else depends on where/how they grew up. for blacks, it doesn't really matter in either way. genetically, mixed black people seem to express non-physical alleles from the non-black parent more. basically, exclusively non-black genes are often dominant. including ones for intelligence, although people with very different IQs are less likely to have kids together in the first place. all other groups - middle easterners, central asians, south asians, southeast Asians often vary widely due to social class and marriage traditions.

In order to perceive it as a loss one must first believe that one's race (or "heritage") has superior characteristics. If you did not, there would be no loss. To place a value on the "purity" of one's race implicitly suggests that your race would be sullied by mingling with those of alien race.

Of course all races have something that distinguish them from others..that's what makes every race, well, different. And preserving that those few unique characteristics doesn't qualify someone as racist. Just like the decision to not date interracially doesn't make someone racist.
