The mirror.
I notice the same thing. I think its because the camera is not natural in that its a still image. A mirror is watching every movement of your eyes, face, mouth, and body. So it appears more natural as you would see other people in the real world, not just standing there motionless. That in and of itself tells our brains that something looks funny and I think its why we all think we look stupid in photos. That's because we do. Human's are not statues.

People are used to their reflection and prefer it over the 'real' image.
Studies done with people chosing between a mirrored face and an unmirrored face show no preference in others yet a strong preference when it comes to their own face.
Don't worry, you are just as attractive as you look in the mirror, you just can't deal with the eery feeling of not being able to fully recognize yourself.
the way you view yourself is different than othe rpeople see you. I feel most of my friends look better in person..and one of them looks better in picture. no one looks the same in pictures.lol
i guess mirror is more reliable even though that's still not how exactly other people see you.
Definitely the mirror! There's so many factors to consider when taking picture, angle and lighting can influence pics so much.. therefor the picture can look bad thanks to many things. In the mirror it's more realistic.
I trust more the mirror but when I take a picture with a friend, I don't like my face and stuff but like, I look better than her ;) but that's why effects are used and like stuff like that, but better mirror than camera

You have to be more specific than "camera". Many factors including lens shape, focal point, subject distance, shutter speed, aperture, lighting, gain, white balance, etc. will effect how you look. You could look like total crap with one camera, and godlike with another.
I don't know.
Pictures shows me a person and Mirror shows me another person.
I prefer the camera sometimes, when my skin looks terrible or good, the camera shows that.
When I look at the mirror , I don't see my flaws.
I hate both of them , I trust none, because they are just confusing .
You did not see my iD's picture, It was just "terrible" .
I hate it when someone takes photos of me , I like to take the photos myself.I trust the mirror. And the camera to a degree but I think it's weird how when my close family or friends take my picture I look fine and they call me photogenic .
But when my step mum takes my picture (she don't like me she will choose nasty angles then put them up at my dads lol. I'm 26 and she's sine it since I was a child lolI have the same problem. I look good in the mirror, I even look better in the laptop camera. But whenever some people take my pictures or take videos of me, I really look terrible. My id picture sucks as well.
You know the mirror image is reversed, right? It's not what people see when they look at you.
The image from the camera, is what they see when they look at you.
You do know this, right?Both the camera and mirror have far too many variables, neither is the best source because both depend on lighting conditions around you. The mirror is generally static in one area using the same lighting whereas the camera can be from many angles. The best and most accurate would be a video
Mirror = 3D
Picture = 2D
You = 3D
Which do you suggest is more accurate?yeeeaaa me too. I don't know which is telling the truth. :[
I'm the same way. The camera does not do me justice. Most people tell me I'm attractive, I have no problem getting girls and I find myself attractive in the mirror. Pictures, however.. no thanks XD
Mirror although there has been a few times I have looked pretty good on pictures...i guess it depends on the lights and the possing...personally I am not good possing for pictures.
Because pictures are 2 dimensional. We see things in 3 dimensions. Aside from that some people are not photogenic
i have the same problem! it's about being photogenetic I think. which I am clearly not lol but in videos I'm good, so I think its OK ^^
Camera. I have a distorted self-image and an I'm still fat mentality sometimes, so I rely on photos rather than looking at myself in the mirror.
i don't really trust any of them but I definitely find myself look different (in fact, uglier) on a picture than in the mirror lol
Mirrors lie too, I was shooting myself for a YouTube video, and was looking in the mirror, I look way different on video
I have the same problem so I decided to trust none of them
I'll say mirror because that's what I look best in... haha
Mirror. Same reasons as you. I'm more comfortable with that than being in front of a camera and being caught at the wrong time.
Well Sheldon...i absolutely trust the mirror 10x more! :)
you look good to me ;)
but seriously, iI know what you mean, I think sometimes its the lighting or the distortion of the lens on these things.
