What does it mean if a guy gives you a necklace?

I went to Cuba summer '12 and I met a guy there that I fell for the minute I saw him. The day I was leaving he gave me a necklace of a Cuban flag, he put it around my neck and said " para qu te requerdes de mi" in engish that means " so you can remember me" does he like me? Please guys I really want to know I like him a lot.
