Why does my boyfriend poke fun at me?

Anonymous
I have been dating my boyfriend for seven months. While he is ten years younger than I am, we still have a lot in common and have similar thoughts on things.

He is very caring, loving, and affectionate. He loves to cuddle, kiss, hold my hand, pet my hair. He tells me I'm beautiful, sexy, loving, caring, that he loves my body, that I'm smart, and that he's happy to be with me.

However, he also, EVERYDAY, pokes fun at me. He says he's not making fun of me but it certainly feels that way. He'll make joking comments about me, my weight, my teeth, my personality, my family, my friends. He'll call me a fat ass, Krakatoa, tell me he's smiling like I am and make an absurd face, tell me that I'll never be on the cover of a swimsuit magazine but I'm loyal, call me stupid, and say that where I work only hires "special" people. These are just some of the things he's said.

I've told him how it makes me feel when he says things like that, I've asked and told him to stop, and he tells me to knock it off. He says that he could say or do hundreds of nice things and I'd only focus on the jokes. Sometimes he's relentless and it makes me cry. He tells me I have to grow a thicker skin.

What do you think? Am I too sensitive or is he too insensitive? What should I do?
