So, my boyfriend is a 6ft1, 197lb, large framed guy who's 25 years old. He plays hockey, and also worksout, he's all muscle. I'm 5ft 1, 24 years old, at 105lbs. Very tiny built, and petite.
WHY is it that boyfriends enjoy picking up their girlfriends?
My boyfriend ALWAYS does this out of surprise, any random time he pleases. For example, I was trying to reach a bowl on the shelf a bit above my head. I could get it, but my boyfriend comes over, swoops me off my feet and lifts me up to reach it. It was cute, but he's getting into the habit of lifting me often and I'm not sure why. He will lift me, and carry me over his shoulder like it's nothing. Or he will lift me under my knees and shoulders, and carry me to the sofa or bed like a child. I'm just wondering if this is considered cute by men? Is it something all boyfriends do?
He does poke fun at my height, as I'm quite short and tiny. But only joking around fun, nothing serious!
Guys, Why do guys enjoy lifting their girlfriends up?

Because it's intensely attractive and is the way things should be. Gentle dominance by us guys, and gentle being-dominated by you girls. It's the natural way (minus the gentleness, nature isn't very gentle lol). Natural things are attractive. Just like how we straight guys like tits-- they're feminine, and therefore attractive, because it's something you have that is different from us. People are naturally attracted to the minor differences between the sexes. Just how it is. Think about it-- you like being picked up by him, don't you?

beside when he does it, it boosts his moral confidence, he feels more manly, let him do that..
and once in a while climb on his back in less crowded but public place, we men who are athletic love any and every chance too show off benefits of muscular body,
maybe next time your legs feel bad after walking with him, sit on his shoulder, as he walks by, be crazy with him and he will fall in love with you for eternity..
I really don't love or hate it, but my girlfriend kept suggesting that she was too heavy for me to lift (which is obviously not true, looking at both of us), so I snatched her up and threw her on the bed just to show her. She went giddy like a school girl, and l love seeing her happy and laughing, so that's why l do it.
So... are you just bragging about how great your boyfriend is?
I mean seriously... if you really want to know why he picks you up all the time, it's because he can. If he wanted a big ole woman to dominate him, I think there's enough of them out there to find.
i personally enjoy doing it as well cause ig u can say my type is short petite girls and i am 6'3". First of all, makes me feel dominant but also if i wanna kiss the girl I don't have to strain my neck. But i don't rlly do it normally just because of... like if I'm doing it too help her reach something on the top shelf she usually asks me to get it down. but sometimes we mess around and its fun to lift her in that situation
Because it's fun and we like to hold you and hug you and show you how strong we are, and it's symbolic of how we want to support you and carry you over any problems you can't handle. It's not because you're weak, it's because we care for you. And guys love it when you take the lead and are there for them too. But picking up the girl you love is a beautiful beautiful thing!
I think it's just to show them that I'm a strong guy who is able to take care of her. I know that women want to be strong independent individuals but sometimes a guy wants to show his woman that he's strong too
