First of all let me proudly declare that I'm a proud and devout Christian that isn't ashamed of the gospel of the King of Kings and Lord of Lords Jesus Christ.

Dangers of Religions

Every religion is inherantly evil and deceptive except Christianity. Catholicism isn't Christianity by the way even though they claim to follow the Bible and Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit testifies of the Son of God Jesus Christ and truth of the Gospel. If you're genuinely hungry for truth and the right religion of God you will do your due diligence on biblical prophecies etc to secure the vidilty of the Bible. However, that's beside the point of this Intake.

All religions demand it's followers to follow a man or woman that claim to have heard or be inspired by a deity without no evidence whatsoever to his or her followers of a divine message sent by a god.

Hence, it often leads people that have been seduced to irrational behavior that a particular religion and beliefs advocates for. Many times encourging bigotry and violence towards those who differ in views and belief systems.

A disease of the mind

Religions and their clergies often encourage faith over logic; In other words turn off the light bulp in your mind. For example some sick Christians often refuse to go to the doctor or take their children to the doctor when in need of medical attention to cure a illness because they believe God is going to heal them by divine miracle. Now I for one sure believe God still heals people miraculous. But knowing God and the Bible the way I do. I can assure you, fools irritate God. One of the disciples of Jesus' name, Luke, was a doctor. So God isn't against doctors to heal you. They are in fact a blessing to cure sickness.

Consider the religion of Islam which encourages and commands in the Qur'an to behead and cause terror to innocent infidels simply because they refuse not to adhere to their religious dogma. Imagine how deranged and depraved one has to be between the ears to purposely crash jetliners into skyscrapers (9/11) or strapping themselves with C4 explosives and killing themselves and others because they sincerely believe it's a righteous act on behalf of their god in good "faith" and be rewarded with 72 virgins to enjoy in the afterlife in paradise?

I understand why secular people often have uneasy feelings and disdain for religion. When they wittness a terror act on behalf of a god or hear how irrational and foolish religious people can be. They fear somehow the religious boogy man will magically strip them of their independent thinking minds. Hence, their brain capacity of understanding will be reduced to that of an ant. Further more leading them to drop logic and be taken advantage off by corrupt religious leaders who are after their money to fund their luxury lifestyle or kidnap their minds to control them. Or having a clergy eager to restrain or making them feel guilty for experimenting sexual pleasure in the privacy of their bedrooms with their spouse etc.

I will say that this is a good start so far. However, I would like to address a few points. The problem is due to the confusion here both in the Christian community and in the secular community: Believing in God and Christ is NOT a religion. That is the one thing God has made clear to me. He never said 'go forth and create a religion for me', he commanded through his son Jesus 'Go forth and preach the Gospel...'. The moment we accepted him, the commandment is already given.

Being out of church for so long when I wasn't able to, helped me to wake up to the reality of the darkness in this world. People are so in tuned in the control of society. And after speaking with a lot of my secular friends, I have come to a conclusion of the behavior patterns of those who say they are saved: They're really not. The reason why so many are not coming to Christ is because hardly anybody is being an example of him. A study from ChristianMingle. com have done a survey on its users and found a startling amount of 80% of Christians have already engaged in sexual activities/premarital sex at least once. With nearly over 30%-40% believing that premarital sex is okay. This indeed a very serious and dangerous situation. And I talk about the sexual matters more so because of what the scriptures say's about it. It the key to everything about you. Before we can reveal the truth about the dangers of religion, people, especially Christians have to truly know God first.

We also have to be careful about Bible Idolator's as well. Those who use the Bible to control the person who's in sin, mainly so amongst fellow believers. Fully understanding God's will and purpose for our lives in essential so that we can get rid of the notion of the Grey area and accept the fact that there is none. And have appointed things as they are and what his word stands for. Sadly religion, including Christianity is what hinders believers to truly experience Christ as he meant it. And what I mean by that is the kind of Christianity we have today: religion. Instead, teaching them that we must surrender our will to him in order to truly build such a relationship. We must teach and remember that going to church, fellowshipping with others, getting baptized or doing good works and reading the Bible and having prayer is not enough. And that our work isn't easy and is a constant growth. We must use logic with this, but only within the wisdom that God gives you. Not the ways of worldly wisdom. Love this take so far.

Glad I was able to help you with this. When you develop your own faith in the Lord, many extraordinary things happen when you trust him to lead you and you hear his voice clear as day. He wants you to question things because the enemy is out on a revolt and is using other people close to you to destroy your bond and trust in the Lord. Even other believers. This is why it's so important and imperative to know who Christ really is, because people have perverse thoughts on who he is and use selfish motives to justify their own wrong doings.

There have been words placed in the Bible that should not be. The issue is exactly like I said. They don't have a relationship with God and Christ because they have 'religion'. But we each have to get our own salvation in order with him while seeking his wisdom and getting deliverance from the things we ended up picking up out in the world, or through generational curses. In fact, this is one of the main reasons why so many believers struggle to find Christ, but their in church. Exactly! I read NKJV and KJV. I do not read those modern versions. Many of them are not done by believers. But secular people. Mainly those who practiced an occult. The only problem here is Christ appointed men to govern his followers, 70 righteous men and his 12 apostles. They were given his priesthood and told to work miracles with them. He said to partake in the sacrament as a remembrance of him. In actuality, Christ had set up a church before he left this world. It's not about being attached. It's about building that relationship to the God that created us and everything that seems impossible to be possible. If you find a guy you are attracted to and you desire a relationship with that person, you would do everything within your means to do so. That is the kind of desire God wants with us [his creation]. Really religion is one of the last frontiers as humans we have yet to get past without the need of scalpels or guns. In my opinion I could never get converted into christianity. As I'm a huge fan of science and I like fictional stories except when its a story that isn't contradicting what it said 3 or 4 paragraphs before itself.

I'd follow Christianity if the book and the religion were not such a messy lock and key. Not to mention I kinda have an issue with mono control when it comes to power. As stories and Legends always teach about not letting one have absolute power yet the bible goes against almost every fairy tail that is suppose to teach people. Its not about having absolute power but having some part of power.

Which is why I choose to follow the ancient variation of Christianity instead as for me its something that is understandable. The idea of being polythesic. It eliminates the idea of a single all mighty being and replaces it with a system in which people can find their own niche. I choose to follow the gods from Ancient Greek and Roman. The days where there were 1000's of gods but it was up to you mostly who you could believe in and honor you didn't have to honor all of them or any of them. So long as you didn't cross them.

Even though there probably isn't a heaven or "hell" as if you know greek both are within the under world. Which kinda makes sense as we mostly burry or deposit our ancestors with in the earth somewhere.

I like Greek and Roman religions because its a mythical story that comes with a grain of truth to it that doesn't sound. Like its coming out of bias mouth. Not to mention the gods of Greek religion would make regular trips to meet humanity and didn't always feel the need to sit on their thrones day in and day out. And they also would make the effort to blend into human society allow us to unknowingly communicate with us. As well if we questioned them they could show us that they are a god.

Rather than claim to be a god yet be so powerful that showing us power would contradict the gods own nature. I respect Christianity but its got a nature to it and a history that I personally would prefer to avoid to be affiliated with.

I was raised christian, and the thing that has always bugged me about 'organized religion' is the need to put down other religions. In Christianity, I've seen it be other religions or even other 'sects' of Christianity.
To be honest I don't know the histories of the various religions all that well. But this all sounds like "People wanting to be right. Therefore other people must be wrong."
I'll admit that I can have difficulty separating god / religion from "People Doing" as the other poster put it.

This is why the 16th century was filled with men that wanted to make the Bible so plain and easy to read, that any literate otherwise-dunce could open it for themselves and inspect. And why Puritans brought Bibles with them to double-check what the minister said for accuracy. And held discussions afterward if there was any ambiguity.

Because today, we have Joel Osteens and Rick Warrens a-plenty, and that kind of shallow "faith" saves no one.

Islam is apples and oranges to this, yet Muhammad's latter-life hostility toward those who did not accept him has now become a catch-all excuse for ISIS to do every single evil thing that has ever crossed their minds.

We have tools for knowledge and theology. Yet, many choose Secularist ignorance. And when you hear a nutball spew bad theology to rationalize worse actions, willful ignorance is about the only thing more dangerous.

Restrictions and moral values are good and NEEDED for a healthy life. Religions are too big, and are not possibly capable of taking care of the individual. Religions are run by man, so no matter how Devine their god may be, the ones spreading the religion are not.

For some religion works. Some people need someone else telling them what to do and some religions don't demand anything necessarily harmful from their followers. Other people get logically and spiritually repressed, and are times told to quiet their inner compass and person beliefs to conform.

But what is evil? If it's what I think you're saying it is, then Christianity is just as evil as the next religion. Humans aren't created by gods, it's the other way around. Gods are invented in many religions as ego projected onto a supposed figure of authority in an attempt to make one's opinions valid.

Sin, virtue, and most other similar concepts are also the product of some very old humans' spare time.
Do note that religion does not, has never, and will never equal spirituality. Religion is often the steppingstone towards spirituality, but they simply aren't the same.

Christianity is no different than any other religion. It is fact to those who believe and insanity to those that don't. It is based on twisted, anecdotal evidence, personal opinion and blind faith, just like any other.
