I'm not saying sexism doesn't exist, but so many women make themselves the victim in situations that they aren't.

When nothing even happened, or is happening. Yes, you are aware of rape victims, but you aren't a victim. You are just acting paranoid as fuck. Guess what? Men get raped too. Little boys? It's called a pedophile. Why is it more common in women? Because we are naturally more petite and feminine. Of course females are, because we are females. It's not sexism, but grown men usually don't tackle other built, grown men to the ground and rape them. Especially if they are STRAIGHT.

Also, saying we are more petite isn't saying that women aren't strong. Like when men ask you if need help carrying something heavy when you are obviously carrying a thinner body figure. It's being polite. They aren't pointing out how weak women are, they are offering help.

Also, very, very few rapes occur walking down the street or in any public situation for that matter. Usually it is in the victim's or assailant's home in complete privacy.

You know what is far more likely to happen when walking home? Mugging and general assault, the majority of which are against man. That is, regardless of the gender of the mugger, a male or female mugger is more likely to mug a man. Often on the premise that doing so to a woman is crossing the line.

2. I kinda agree with. I don't agree with the fact that we should hold women accountable for an assumption that men are uncontrollable horndogs. But I do think if you are going to walk around with your chest hanging out of your shirt, that is basically the equivalent to a man walking around with speedos showing off his enormous bulge. People are going to look. Heck, I am going to look, and I don't like big boobs and can't stand cleavage. Why? The same reason you notice a guy's butt crack when he bends over. It stands out.

So what I am going to say is to expect the comments. Especially from the gender who is expected to do the flirting in the first place.

3. If I don't mind it in guys, I don't mind it in girls. That's my general rule. If I DO mind it in girls, I stop and think about whether or not I mind it in guys. If I don't, then I keep that shit to myself.

Loud burping and farting is gross. I understand you can't always help it. But it's one of the things I don't like about hanging out with certain guys. So a girl isn't going to get a free pass.

As for the "bitch" vs "take-charge" double standard. You know what the problem is? People seem to admire guys who are assholes. Moreso than guys who aren't.

The problem isn't that we want girls to be polite and such. The problem is that we don't want guys to be polite. We call them spineless.

So if you are going to go out and act all shitty, and call it "take charge", you're doubling the problem, not remedying it. Now you are taking the same shit that guys have struggled with and throwing that baggage onto women.

I'd never discourage women from being careful when walking down the street - it would be irresponsible and unwise of me to do that. I had a friend who was walking alone one night (and she wasn't petite - she was tall and fit and trained) and she was raped and her life has never been the same since.

Also, there is nothing wrong with girls talking about their periods. There's nothing wrong with anyone talking about anything - free speech and all - it's not like you have to listen if you don't want to.

As for guys watching attractive girls - it's one thing to look at someone attractive or talk to your friends about how hot someone is - it's completely different when you just drool over someone and get creepy. I'm not bashing feminism, I am feminist because I want equal rights for everyone. I am a female. I mean, you are certainly not alone in feeling this way. I will go ahead and predict that many cis-men who post here (straight or gay) will agree with you. In fact, they will praise you for your opinion. Many cis women will also praise you for this because they "are not like other girls", and those who say that they are feminists will concede by saying that they not like "those feminists" who you reference as man-hating.

Rape does not happen because women are more petite and feminine -- this implies that men simply cannot help themselves. It implies that all men are naturally and inherently pedophiles and rapists, which is simply not the case.

Also, in regards to street harassment, women are not simply being paranoid. I have myself been victim to men groping me inappropriately and even following me for long periods of time saying nasty things. These are not safe situations and so I always advise everyone to be cautious when traveling alone - trust your gut and be aware.

And yes, cis guys do a lot of those things in public. If not in public, then in groups of friends. I can't tell you how many guys I know who are really just chill with themselves - they are not afraid to fart and burb and talk about their poop to their friends and in class lol. I agree, it's not well mannered but it can be funny. I talk about my period all the time and cuss very frequently. It's a free country AND no one has mentioned me making them uncomfortable.

Actually you rape information isn't entirely accurate. Men are raped almost about the same rates as women, by mostly by other men not women - female rapist constitutes almost insignificant numbers of rapist.
Child-molesters however, have a female culprit in almost 1/3 cases.

Women hardly ever rape adult males, women mostly rape young boys and girls.

I do agree with some of this, but I'm not so sure about other parts of it. I don't feel like women should be looked down upon for being paranoid. Of course we aren't the only group in society that has issues, but I don't think that means we should ignore them. You have to be paranoid sometimes. Everyone has to be paranoid sometimes. It's not exactly just about rape when you're walking down the street alone. Even men have dealt with being mugged before. I don't think that that has anything to do with feminism.

I don't think that women should complain about being gawked at if they were certain revealing outfits in public, but I do think men should keep their comments to themselves. And a mini-skirt does not give men free access to sex. It's just a mini-skirt. I don't wear them because they make me feel uncomfortable and I don't like being looked at that way, so I choose not to. But if I did wear them, I would stil deserve respect. It doesn't make anyone less of a person to wear a mini-skirt.

I have never actually heard anyone say that they can fart and burp in public due to feminism. That's just plain rude, agreed. Yes, cussing is inappropriate in most places. I agree. I hate when someone tells me it's okay for guys to cuss excessively, but not girls, though, because it "looks bad for them." It applies to men too.

I think a lot of girls/women say bad things about feminists because certain ones have given feminism a bad name. Some women use it as an excuse for their actions, I believe, but true feminists are not just unnecessarily rude people. We stand up for ourselves and we treat every individual equally. Femismn is not simply about women. The title is misleading. It's about equal rights for all -- women, men, homosexuals, transexuals, transgenders, etc.

Yeah, it's true that men shouldn't be creepy and shout comments at girls, especially if they are clearly not interested, but it gets annoying when women call men sexist pigs to looking at them (not in a creepy, over-doing it way), when they are dressed nicely. Im not a feminist but I still agree that people should control their actions when it comes to the opposite sex wearing "revealing clothing". You can't just walk anywhere naked because that's against the law and if people look then you can't necessarily control that either. But if a girl was wearing a tight shirt or if a guy was wearing leggings then it is common sense to not go up and touch them (the I have seen this before), no one is ever asking for it. I don't know, I feel like a lot of things that you mentioned aren't really feminism. Feminism is a movement dedicated to creating equality between men and women in the realms of political, social, and economic life. There are lots of different things attached to feminism, and some people kind of abuse the term - probably people who don't actually know what the term really means. One thing though... why not talk about periods? They're a natural part of life for half of the world's population. And what's wrong about women deserving to feel comfortable in their own bodies? After dating a feminist I have come to dislike feminism for most of these same reasons. I very truly want women to have equal opportunities. Though for me I never fought for women's rights but for the rights of all people. Before dating a feminist I had many female bosses and never once did I even notice they were female. They were just my boss. I was raised (like most men) to always be polite and courtious to women, not because they were weak or less than men but because I had admired them and wanted them to feel loved and happy. The way I worded the first point might come off as confusing. I was trying say that just because you are born a girl, doesn't automatically make you a victim to sexual harassment (many girls I have met and talked to think like that.) Walking down a street alone is scary for anyone, murders AND rapist. It was more for the women that say they shouldn't have to watch their back whenever they are alone, even in broad daylight, when they have had nothing done to them to make them a victim. But there are still healthy ways to be concerned about those things.

I honestly do feel unsafe walking down the street alone by myself. I'm short, so most people I walk past are taller than me, and I just feel like it would be really easy for someone to do anything to me if I was all by myself.

Feminism have those problems as you state, because it's based on the false belief system of a patriarchy.

The world is unfair and everybody is discriminated at some point, sure some groups more than other, some kinds of discrimination are more serious than others. But we are all victim of discrimination, and guess what we do all discriminate as well.
Therefore the discrimination of women are not because of a patriarchy, but because of our entire world structure is based on people and people discriminates against what we don't like or do whatever give us an advantaged.
