Definitely not a race thing, but nice try.
My parents always tip well depending on the service. If it sucked they still leave tip, but never over 15%.
Such a stupid generalization. When I'm out with my friends who are white and Asian they do that $1.50 shit ALL THE TIME and are so stingy. I live in an area with a bunch of whites and a lot always try to get out of paying their food by saying they have done charity and shouldn't pay. Or get super pissed that a coupon is expired. I was the only black girl in my class, when we went out to eat all the guys were super rude to the server even though she was bubbly and cute. When the bill came one of them thought it would be funny to leave 50 cents as a tip. The other 2 left $2. To cover their shit tips us girls left more money.
A white girl in my forums said that she never leaves tips, and claimed she shouldn't have to because she already paid for her food.
Even though majority of the time I see whites or Asians leaving shit tips or none at all, I'm not stupid enough to make a moronic assumption like that.

Um, I'm black. Technically molato, but still that's half black, and I tip 30% which is way more than the average $5 people leave out. And I only ever complain if I seriously need to. For instance I went to Ruby Tuesdays one time and it took 3 hours to get me my cold food. Yes I complained, and refused to pay, but I'm sure you can see why. So, maybe it's you as a server, or just the general area you work they are more poverty stuck or something, but don't generalize it as a "black" thing, when I'm giving people $20 tips on a $50 bill.
If you give me bad service I'm not tipping you. If you decide to assume since I'll be a bad tipper anyway Bc I'm black so why bother giving me decent service, you must be out your mind to think I'm going to tip you well anyway to prove your prejudices wrong.
That being said I'm not a large tipper anyway. I'm not gonna tip you more than $5 ever. But at least you're getting something. That amount will go to $0 if you give me horrible service tho
I see why you're anonymous. But you're right, black people are the worst tippers out of all race. I used to to be a valet driver for a casino. I couldn't stand it when it was a black event such as a comedy show or a concert. The even worse tippers are the black dudes with a white women. One time, I dropped this guy (he's black) car off and his wife (she's white) is telling him to tip me because I deserve it and he saying "hell no." So she tipped me $4 and he proceeds to get pissed off. But I think it has more to do with the economy than race. Black people from the middle class and up will generally give you a decent tip. Black people from the ghetto will not tip you and they generally are more ruder than others
Entitlement, I guess. Outside of restaurants, I've noticed a fair amount of black people just generally act entitled to respect for nothing, act nasty towards others, are quick to act out instead of being reasonable, and don't take responsibility for themselves. This is especially true in younger people.
And of course, this isn't a sweeping statement, doesn't paint everyone with the same brush, blah blah blah more political correctness to ease people's frustration blah blah blah

i was a waiter and well it depends on the persons financial situation and the way they were brought up
I always tip extra well
But i noticed black people tipped less too, but it wasn't because they were black, where i live a majority of black people are lower middle class, so when they go out to have fine italian cuisine they are treating themselves and probably not realizing they aren't tipping enough
i understand that they are probably not very financially secure and need to count their dollars.
That being said the biggest tip i got was from a black man! he gave me $100!
it depends on economic situation not raceNot a race thing my dude...
If their complaining about things then that might affect your tip.
If the cost of the meal is low then you can't expect a high tip.
Some people just might now even have the money to spare to tip while some are cheap.
Believe it or not, some people don't even know that they are supposed to tip.
My first time I went out out to eat at a place where you tip the waiters (Denny's) I tipped the guy serving me and my friends $25 for a $39 meal... I had no idea what I was doing. I was wondering why the waiter had a huge smile on his face when he passed by our table, he even gave me a pat on my shoulder. When I told my friends how much I tipped the guy they all facepalmed and started clowning me lol. Now I pull out a calculator to do the math AND I double check...Huh... I went to a bar grill with my 2 Hispanic friends. I paid for one one of my friends' meal too and I was nice to the waitress. The meal was rather pricy so I didn't have much left to tip. I had $2 left exactly in my wallet.
I left $2 on the table, turned around and saw my friend grab one of the dollars. He said he don't give a fuck and that she was a fat white girl anyways, not the cute one.
He insulted the waitress' quality based on her looks not service.
But unlike you, I don't generalize that all Hispanics are this rude to their waitress.
She only got a $1 tío because I didn't feel like getting in an argument in public with him to return the cash.
Here's the funny thing, despite her crappy tip, she still ran after my friend to give him the keys he forgot in his seat.
Such a nice girl she was.
Such a dick he was.
I still don't generalize tho.Lol well, in my opinion I don't think the customers should be demanded to pay the waitor's wage. But since I know they get paid shit I always tip well. In my experience, Asians are the worst, in addition to being rude as hell, but of course only blacks are held with the bad rep. Everytime I used to go out with my ex, who is Indian, he tipped horribly so I'd always pitch in more money. His family does the same, in addition his mom is a bitch to like every "servant" in her eyes. The thing is, if you were a shit server, I'm not going to go broke tipping you. My family does the same, they pay for good service. Maybe you're just a shitty waiter and blacks are the only people holding you accountable for it.
So does that mean we should still tip well after getting bad service, so that we don't fit into that stereotype. I usually tip well unless the service is extremely terrible, just because I'm not cheap and I factor that percentage in before even going somewhere. But I feel like such an asshole when I tip well even after subpar service. Or should I tell people "even thoug I'm black i know how to tip, so make sure to give me good service". Why can't people in the service industry just treat everyone the same, I mean it is their job.
That's true. They're cheap. I had this black friend and she would always refuse to leave a tip. So I would. It's just rude behavior. If they were working at a restaurant then they would get mad if they had shitty tips. It's actually funny because the black girl I was talking about worked at a restaurant and she quit because her tips sucked.
I'm black and I tip $5 or more.
If I feel like the service was bad the waiter/waitress isn't entitled to anything in my eyes.
They were probably rude or did not do their job very well.
I tip from for good service.
Perhaps, the problem is you.
You shouldn't be complaining about a 3 dollar tip... they could have gave you nothing. What you mean tip I paid for my ducking food you get paid to serve. I work at theater we are not allowed to get tips. 3 dollars is more than enough. What you want 10 dollars from every person that comes in. Its your mucking job to give me my plate.
truth be told the cooks should. Be getting the tips the cooked it. You just bring a plate to a table and back to the kitchen and wipe table down.
as far as the complaining goes they do complain a lot. But you gotta think they want the best service not just half butt you know. I'm Mexican. By the way. I don't tip the pizza guy either it your job to drive in that car and deliver. You didn't do me a favor. You got paid for that PAID but I won't lie every now and then I give 5 dollars. The max to certain peopleI, too, have worked in a restaurant... it isn't a race thing, It's an individual thing.
Black people actually *are* the worst tippers, regardless of the sex or race of the server. It's been checked in studies, even.

Why? Hell if I know.Maybe it's just where you live? Trust me, I've seen all different races be rude in many different ways. It's not just black people. Maybe they didn't think your service was worth a $5 tip. Or maybe they just don't have enough to tip you so generously. Nobody is made of money. Be happy you even got a tip.
That not true not all black ppls are like that I'm. black and I'm not like that maybe u should think about the stuff black pols been throw and how white ppls treat us.
I think it has to do with how much money they earn. Obviously not all black people tip bad. I'm sure some tip wayy higher than whites.
It depends on their background economically. If I made a lot of money, I'd tip like a baller. Make it rain on the waitress ;)Well this isn't a racist question.
I'm labeled black and I don't tip because I'm broke XD. Bro you know I need to live off that extra 3 dollars shit. LOL.
www.troll.me/.../im-just-sayin.jpgJust the ones you deal with. My family and I tip well. The better the service, the better we tip. Last time I checked, tips are optional not mandatory.
because most black are poor LOL
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q_PS7IJ20qAlisten to the lyrics man and you'd find out why
So do Hispanics. No matter how much the total is my parents ALWAYS tip $3. Yet again, not all follow the same rule. I tend to tip accordingly. How high my tip is depends on service, food, and of course my total.
Why should a customer be responsible for a workers salary? If your boss is not paying you well then thats not the customers fault. Its a good thing I come from a country where tipping is forced onto customers because when a person goes to a restaurant they go there to EAT not pay someones salary.
I don't see why it matters? Their already paying for their food, my mom leaves tips all the time but if I was old enough, I would only give tips to waiters that put effort/did the best they could at their job, It's not compulsory/mandatory.
