How to get unbanned?

Okay, so on February 15th I was caught stealing something from a Dollar General... I don't know why I did it but I felt pretty horrible, The manager threatened to call the police but he let me go and banned me from the store... I have never stolen before and much less would I steal again so don't judge please. I wrote them a Letter :

Dear Dollar General Manager,

I sincerely apologize for trying to steal.

I deeply regret all the trouble I have caused to Dollar General as a result of my action. I feel remorseful in taking up your time with this ruckus I created. The only good of this situation is that I was caught; I feel strangely relieved. I can't express why I stole, and I can't say I didn't know it was wrong. I can only say it was a moment of poor decision. I guess has a lot to do with youth and stupidity of being in a group however, this is one I don't plan on falling prey to again.

I am deeply ashamed of the stupidity of my action, and can only promise to never repeat them.

It is presumptuous of me, but please accept my apologies.

and I had the letter delivered by my friend since if I go I would and can be charged w criminal trespassing.
any ideas on what I should do next?
Not trying to be racist to my own race but they are hispanic and I live in a shitty town called Laredo :/

You belong a weekend in jail, unfortunately, that costs the taxpayer money.

Maybe you should go to the police, turn yourself in, and ask to be prosecuted and plead guilty in exchange for community service.

Personally, there are two things that I find inexcusable: Stealing from me and lying to me about something upon which I make a decision.

I belong in jail for one small mistake even if I am a great person and have the potential for doing great things? It's inexcusable but at the same time people don't know what stress can do to you. I learned my lesson and I am trying to amend what I did because the guilt is killing me inside. I will not go to the police only because that will stain my record otherwise I'd be more than happy to that because I don't believe stealing is right. I feel paranoid actually every time I leave my house. I feel like they are going to come and take me or shame me in public. I told them I was more than sorry. I don't know what else I could do. SO don't judge someone without knowing them because of one mistake. I don't need someone to come on here and yell at me because I know what I did was more than wrong. And even if they forgive me I will have trouble forgiving myself. This has really affected me to the point of contemplating stupid things. I come on GAG for support and advice not to be shamed.

I feel like sending them the amount of money I was going to take which was under $10. I am more than grateful that the man was generous and kind enough to let me go.
I am not a bad person, in fact I can say I am better than most kids and I mean that in the most polite way ever. I had never stolen before. I believe I did it to fill in some form of void because I did it without thinking. I did it automatically, and honestly dealing with stress and trying not to relapse into the chronic depression I suffered is so hard for me when I am expected to be more than BEST. Life is hard but I should have never done what I did. I learned that. All I ask is for forgiveness and if possible for the ban to be lifted in a year if that is what I can compromise on. It's silly and terrible because I plan on owning my own business and I realize that inventory is precious and that that negative karma i put out could very well come back and kick me in the behind for what I did.

I lied to him out of nervousness because never before had I been in that situation... First time ended up being my biggest regret and not to mention it gave the phrase "I hate mondays " a whole new meaning. I despise myself up to an extent for what I did. If I can't get the ban lifted I will just have to continue with my life and try to be a better person until I move from this wreck of a city and have my paranoia die with my departure.

Sounds like you learned a lesson, so don't shoplift again or go in with a group of other kids, don't do anything sketchy, and it probably won't be a big deal.

Thing is I live super close to this store and like its the go to place and I don't want to be like " I don't wanna go" a million times to my parents because they might become suspicious :/

Change the way you look and act, and give it a few weeks/months before going back. The people working there mostly are making minimum wage and
a) don't really care
b) won't remember you
c) don't really care

The only one you might need to be careful about is the store manager or whoever is in charge, they may take their job more seriously and get a kick out of being "The Boss", so they might remember you and kick you out if they notice you in the store.
But chances are if you go in dressed differently, wear your hair a little bit different, and act more mature and don't do anything sketchy (no backpacks or big purses, get your stuff and pay for it immediately, don't browse, don't go in with groups of friends), it won't be a big deal.

I've worked in retail, and unless you REALLY stand out (i. e. crazy old man with one leg who reeks of booze), even if I wanted to remember someone, I would probably have a hard time.

Lol, 90% chance the letter went straight to the trash. 9% chance it was read completely before being ignored. 1% chance you get unbanned.

The store literally has nothing to gain and everything to lose by letting in known thieves. They don't have the people to dedicate to watching you whenever you show up, they have actual work to do.

My friend said the lady went to tell the manager :/ I honestly don't know what to do :/ should I wait until summer when my hair grows and I might look slightly different? They Change staff regularly :/
