Okay..

So, I was looking at this one question.. 'Is it gay for a guy to wear a scarf'. I looked in it for laughs and to write a good response..

I see the girls, and they say it's cute--which is what I think-- then, I see the men..

I almost lost faith in humanity with how serious these people took it!

They all said the same thing (besides one or two) and eluded to it being gay. Or, 'I wonder if it matches his panties!' Hardy f***ing har. D<

Since when is it alright for men to dress like bums or be degraded when they want to be stylish? OR WARM? How come it's always okay for the girls to go the extra mile and try to match to impress, but guys don't do jack sh*t?

Now, a white tee and jeans is sometimes extremely hard for some of you men out there to do.. I understand that you even put on socks. Kudos. BIG kudos.

But, seriously, why is it 'gay' for a man to be a bit fancy and show the girls he's not a brute? Even if he IS, we'll never see it coming.

Also, why is it bad to be gay? Can you give me an answer that isn't from the men who 'chatted' with your god? Hmmm? If you CAN'T find an answer that isn't from the bible, give me the exact words and here they came from.. In you bible.

People are idiots. The way a person dresses has nothing to do with their sexuality, unless it's something like a t-shirt that specifically states that they are gay or bi or lesbian or straight or whatever. Women can dress in guy clothes whenever they want, but nobody ever accuses them of being lesbians. But if a guy is seen wearing anything that's even remotely feminine, people will question his sexuality. For centuries, men have done their best to establish themselves as dominant over women in society. For a very long time, women were considered to be property. Many girls dream of their wedding night and having their husband carry them across the threshold into their bedroom. What they don't realize is that this tradition began because it was customary for a man to carry all of his property into his home. Because of things like this, women have always been seen as the weaker sex, so if they chose to dress in masculine clothing, it was seen as them trying to emulate their superiors and set themselves above other women. By this same logic, if a man chose to wear anything feminine, it was seen as a step down to the same level as the women and thus expressing weakness. Gay people are persecuted for similar reasons, because people believed that it was the woman's place to satisfy her man and so if a man was gay, he was seen as feminine and weak.

My point is that a person's clothing has nothing to do with their sexuality. A guy that I know went to a Halloween party last weekend in a frilly dress with stockings. But I know for a fact that this man is not gay because earlier this year he was dating a girl who I share an apartment with. Luckily, nobody at the party made fun of him because it was for the gaming club at UT, where it is apparently common knowledge that Matt is into cross dressing.

I, myself, enjoy wearing panties because they are softer and more comfortable than boxers, but I'm straight.

I don't think it is bad for a guy to wear a scarf...but it is a fashion statement that I would not make.  I wear panties everyday - thong panties actually, because they are so comfy.  Some people think that I'm gay because I wear panties - I am not gay.  I just don't know where gay is the same as wearing panties.  I mean, its not like I wear skirts and am openly cross-dressing.

i however do not think being gay is bad, I'm not gay myself and I will openly admit when I think a guy is attractive

however, what you explained about the scarf thing, we call, a guy being metro, not necessarily gay. metro are straight guys who like to look well dressed, such as a girl might. it is uncommon for men to look over the top because we were not bred to do this, also it threatens women because women pride themselves on looking nice and when a man tries to outdo her in the fashion sense. she gets upset

How is it, that wearing a single and particular clothing article automatically rewires your synapses and neurons so that your sexual orientation is now geared towards attraction of the same gender? That's pretty impressive if you ask me. If it was that simple to convert a guy into a homosexual, I am sure many of us would be abusing this knowledge to our own agendas.

If you go to europe all the guys dress properly and stylishly. including scarves. some scarves aren't "gay" but some are. Scarves are considered "gay" when they have flowers on them or are bright pink. if its a dark, masuline, scarf, then who gives a f***. they keep you warm and make women respect you more.

If it's below freezing the scarf is not gay at all. It protects your neck and keeps you warmer. However it's an outside article of clothing. Straight men take their scarf off with their coat. Men's scarves are generally solid or subtlety printed. They are also made to you warm not to be fashionable. Women rock scarves with patterns and scarves made to be worn indoors. Now their are also linen scarves worn in the desert to protect a man's neck. Look up any us soldier picture from Afghanistan and you will see them wearing an us issued scarf. The same can be said for soldiers in cold climates. If a man wears a scarf for protection from the elements he is not gay and is probably more comfortable than his non scarf wearing counterparts. Where are we as a society that we even ask this? In the 30s men just put on a scarf because it was cold out and now we question our sexuality and freeze. Doesn't make a ton of sense to me.

Look, Jay-Z can rock a scarf... So really though, even if he didn't...I don't think it's gay. It does keep the neck warm. But I hate too many accessories though. Gloves are enough...I don't even wear hats.

Where I live nobody ever wears scarfs. I don't even know if they sell them anywhere. So I'm no expert, but I'm guessing that there's a difference between wearing fashion scarf when its 60 degrees, and wearing a subtle colored wool scarf when its 30 degrees. so I think that once again, the answer is, it depends. hehe.

Personally I wouldn't wear one, but I don't think its gay for a guy to wear a scarf. A very common thing for men to wear one if you went back not even 100 years. Nowdays I guess women wear them more often. But definitely not exclusive female apparel.

I would only buy "fancy" clothes for a job, It's a waste otherwise. Besides when dating a girl I'd much rather spend the money on her than on some stupid clothes.
