Sorta weird for a girl... don't really see many girls that "shake hands" when they greet you. It's respectful I guess but I associate it with something more guyish... are you doing casual hand shakes link or formal link I'd consider it a little strange if someone done the first option with me but the second is what I generally do. Still no biggie :P

At your age it's probably not as common, particularly in more casual settings. When you get older it will likely be more common.
I reserve hand-shaking for when I meet a superior in a job or possible job and for people of an older generation. I don't think young people really shake hands when they meet each other unless it's some kind of formal situation.
Its more formal. A lot of kids your age aren't use to shaking hands unless its someone a lot older. I don't think its weird and if you shook my hand I'd probably just think it was how you were brought up.
i shake hands too! and people think it's weird... honestly, it's a normal way of introducing yourself, unfortunately, not everyone was raised with the same customs. I say, keep doing it. :)

Its not weird :D But I don't know many teenagers what shake hands with each other :) Teens are more informal really :)
Personally I feel uncomfortable with a handshake. It's a bit.. violating. Invasion of my personal space and all.
it is okay, I shake hands with a lot of people too but most of the time with people in their middle age or older, I think if you just meet teenagers for some of them it may seem to polite so shake hands probably just say nice to meet you
that's not that weird to me, I was taught the same thing.
Absolutely normal to me, that's what I do all the time.
I would only do that at a business meeting, but not for future friends. A smile is good enough for me.
Personally, I don't like giving handshakes.
