When a guy doesn't let go of your hand?

So I was with my male friend last night. When I got up to leave,I thanked him for the drink and shook his hand. Well,he proceeded to give my hand a squeeze and then wouldn't let go.

OK so I know he likes me,but can you guys tell me what he was thinking?
