Can I do anything legally or should I just ignore it?

Who I believe is my ex has sent an email saying my ex is badmouthing me on social media, it was from a fake email. There was nothing threatening in it, but can I get cops involved to get them to stop if there's more eventually? Should I just ignore them? Whaf should I do?

Wow. You guys are pretty rude when it comes to this question. Let me clarify some things since things have been askewed. I just wanted advice on what to. There's no need to be rude.

1. I don't care what my ex says about me. They can say whatever they want.
2. My job requires that I use the internet so avoiding the internet altogether is impossible.
3. This is to my private email I use for work. I have requested a new one to prevent the matter further.
