Is it bad to invite my ex to my family parties still if we have remained friends after the breakup?

My ex & I were best friends before we ever got together & when we we’re best friends my family got to know him & duh, obviously saw him more when we were together. He’s a sweet guy overall & friendly, he became a part of my family really quick & everyone has love for him. After I split with him, we remained friends & have been ever since. My family still has love for him & he knows all of my family members so sometimes when we have family events, I invite him & everyone treats him with a hello, love, & conversation. Yes everyone ask me sometimes if we will get back together but I’m honest & just say no we are friends like before & they just say ok! Is it bad to invite him to some of these family events though or am I thinking too much? Him & I both don’t have anyone special in our lives so I think that’s another reason why I still invite. He always loves to come to the events too just fyi!
