What would you do if your ex showed up at work?

We broke up in December and had no contact since then. Two days ago he suddenly showed up at my work. We had a short conversation about daily stuff, you know, and then he left. Last night he texted a message asking me to go out for dinner. So, what would you do?

Depending on how things ended between you and your ex. Sounds like he wants to give you another chance- because the "grass isn't always greener on the other side." It's entirely up to you if you want to risk getting back with him or not.

Well, since I haven't seen her in over ten years and the last I heard about her she lived over 1,000 miles away... I'd be pretty shocked.

I'd be quite curious as to what was up.

My wife has never even met her but can't stand her. She knows she is the only other woman I have been in love with and we ran into her mom at a restaurant once and the mom said about me "he was supposed to be my son-in-law". Boy that stuck in her craw.

I don't know what she'd do when I said "So... NAME showed up at my work today." She'd freak out.

I say go for it. One date couldn't hurt. Me personally I'd want to know why exactly he chose that exact moment to contact me out of the blue (i. e. if there's some selfish motives behind it all or something. I certainly wouldn't be his rebound chick lol...)

Depends on the ex.

If it was my first ex, I would keep things civil and try to keep an open mind.

If it was my 2nd ex, then I would tell her that her time would have been better spent driving to California and diving off the Golden Gate Bridge because it would be less painful than what I might do if she does not leave by the count of 10.

But in all seriousness I’d ask him “what do you want?” Then I would bring up all the pain, lies, and hurtful memories prior to the breakup. So he would know and feel of the pain I had to carry and not give him another chance.

If you are not otherwise involved there is no reason not to. You wouldn't be the first couple to break up then get back together.
