So money is the number one reason for divorces. Then infidelity. There are more issues involving communication of wants and needs and the problem of being open and honest about it bc of judgment from the other. Hormones, whether natural or taken, could affect mood swings which also affect communication. The idea that we cannot be our authentic selves with our partner is also an issues based on trust. Will they still stick around if I like this? Then there is abuse, whether mental or physical or emotional. Usually after a woman gives birth sexual interest declines bc of the energy exerted into the new baby. Guys might also feel this if they are doing their job and helping with the duties. It’s normal and natural to lose interest in your partner after a while, that’s why we all need interests and hobbies and friends outside our our partnerships, where we can recharge and have something new and interesting to share with our partners, otherwise it gets real boring real fast, and we get lazy and don’t realize we need to keep up doing the things that attracted us to each other in the first place.
Yeah probably. Birth control really fucks with a woman it makes them attracted to weak men.
I took it once for 3 months when I was 18 and literally hated my husband, didn't even wanna sleep next to him or have sex. If I kept taking it things would have for sure went down the drain with my relationship
@Apple1996. That's exactly what I am talking about. I'm glad you had the ability to make the correlation and make a change.
Bipolar people think they have an excuse to be mean to others by using their condition as an excuse. Same thing. Regardless of hormones, it’s wrong to be mean to others and purposely seek to cause them harm.
Simple, simple, simple.
I thought my daughters this years ago, just because doctors are educated does not mean they are right. Same goes for judges., lawyers, and sure as hell politicians. So do everything within your power to not allow those people to be able to make decisions that affect your life (regarding politicians, vote. Or don’t complain).
@Andres77. I could not agree more. Marriage is supposed to be a commitment, where you have given your promise to the other person, before God. But women don't seem to have any problem breaking their most major promise, and doing it for very selfish reasons.
I posted this because I am interested in what makes people tick. We have seen chemical interference on a biological level before, such as lower testosterone and sperm count to due common chemicals. I don't think it's a stretch to say already hormonal and erratic creatures could become more erratic when a chemical taken from their system. Just a thought, I have no background in biochemistry.
EXACTLY!!!
Here ya go.

Women having unreal expectations, then being able to replace their man and being financially rewarded to do so. For instance the majority of home owners in the US are Women

I voted maybe. I would be interested to see if it's different depending on the type of hormonal birth control. For instance does a progestin only method have the same effect as a combination method that has both estrogen and progestin? Or does the dose of hormone make a difference since some methods release more or less progestin in the body than others? It's definitely something to look into further particularly scientists and health professionals. That along with researching other effective non-hormonal methods for men and women, beyond what we already have available in the U. S.
@Andres77 A reason for something though seems different than an excuse. In in the hospital for instance I have seen police bring in meth addicts who have become violent Now it could be that they were violent people before taking meth and the drug causing a lack of impulse control for their violent actions. It's not an excuse but it gives a reason for why it's happening.
Interesting.
I like to think we have control over such things and cheating can’t be justified in any way.
Well, the scent thing and attraction makes sense though.
I don’t take any contraceptive pills cause I am not sexually active and I didn’t take back then when I was, I was always attracted to men with different backgrounds than my own.
For example, I am not attracted to men in my country, we are just four million and I think the lack of genetic diversity makes me less prone to be attracted to them. I almost see them as my own brothers.
However, throughout my life, I have felt attracted to the men from different backgrounds, with different phenotype and genetic make up than mine and I felt very fulfilled being in a relationship with someone totally different from me.
No but hormonal birth control has terrible mental effects on women, like SSRIs, and are also polluting our water supply. There's chemicals in them that don't breakdown that are causing biological changes to fish and such, and could be negatively affecting humans as well.
"Is hormonal based birth control to blame for the majority of divorces and breakups?"
I think it's to blame for Democrats. They are born to mothers who are taking these hormones in cases where they failed to stop the pregnancy and the hormones fucked up the baby's brain. Now we are stuck with them.
So the hypothesis is that women who take the pill and then stop, or vice versa, are more likely to cheat and get divorced. Sounds like a stretch.
Interesting.. I never took the pill.. so no idea..
I tried the patch for 3 months tho and no change between me and my husband but I had to stop using it because I felt like I was pregnant and was nauseous all the time..
Possibly. An interesting hypothesis! But maybe an overdetermined issue too?
I think humans are more primal than we like to think. I have to believe pheromones and other elements are a part of the "chemistry" people feel.
Just as an example, think of how women's menstrual cycles synchronize when they live together (i. em sorority houses).
When I got on birth control my libido completely went away
That sucks for you and your partner.
hormonal birth control contains estrogen that can seep into the water supply and make men weaker when they drink from that same water supply
Possibly. I haven’t read into it all that much. However for me its very simple.
I’ll just get a vasectomy after the third child so I can just cum inside every time
I kinda don’t like the idea of putting people on a bunch of chemicals anyway. Its bad for human health
No. Science thinks it always has the answer to everything.
People divorce for various reasons and no one doesn't know ish what's going on in people's bedrooms and homes but pure speculations.
It is probably a contributing factor in whty so many women cheat today, and why women are so likely to divorce their husbands.
Possibly. I mean it makes perfect sense if you think about it. Men and women evolved to reproduce as soon as they find a mate. Who knows what tinkering with the natural cycle could do?
no clue but it’s the reason i spent 2 years in hospital as a teen 😃
those pills do all kind of things to a woman’s body, they’re so terrible
Idgaf what that does to women.
Anon... what it potentially means is that women are marrying/having children with men who they aren't "chemically" compatible. Once the artificial hormones wear off the women isn't satisfied with her man, cheats, and/or divorces him. The implications, if valid , are huge.
it isn't!
