Why hasn’t my ex told his family and friends we’ve broken up?

My ex and I dated for 3 years and lived together. We broke up in June and tried to work it out until about August when I told him it’s not working and blocked him.

I’ve since changed my number and moved to a new state. We broke up because he was being a jerk to me while my father was in the hospital this past May. He was also very unsupportive and jealous of the time I spent with my family. I was trying to get my father’s health back on track. ( still dealing with that now) For my mental health I had to leave that relationship.

His friends still contact me and this past week have been trying set up a gathering. The conversations we have lead me to believe they still think I’m in a relationship with their friend.

Should I just tell them the truth? I tried to let my ex break the news but I see he still hasn’t.

probably because it's embarrassing to him or he doesn't want everyone in his business. i totally get that. it's not really anyones business except for you and him. as for the friends, someone has to tell them because they are going to think you are ignoring them or being mean when in reality you two just aren't together anymore and that's ok.

Better squash that possibility now or risk being here again but worse

I dont think it matters , you just let them know as time goes on , no need to announce.

Why do you care? Forget him and move on. Feel free to correct anyone of your acquaintance who believes that you are still with him.

Because I was surprised his friends still think we’re together when it’s been months. My friend and family know.
