Advice for how to deal with my stalker ex?

One of my exes has taken to stalking me. This is the same ex that cheated on me while I was deployed. She does not even live in this state, yet I've seen her around. ALL her family and friends are on the West Coast now. There is literally no connection to her in my state other than me.

I have documented and recorded each time she has done so and blatantly stated I wanted nothing to do with her. She has been smart enough to not make blatant threats. I've gone to both the police and courts. No help. Not even when I mention I am a Corrections Officer.

Outside of laying hands on her (which I refuse to do unless it is life or death), I am at a loss as to what to do.

Those saying "go to police" or "get a restraining order", I mentioned in my post I tried both these routes.

Man that's super messed up of your ex to be stalking you like that. I can't believe she would fly out just to creep on you after how she treated you. That's like next level crazy.

I'd say your best bet is to try and get a restraining order against her if you have all the evidence of her stalking. Even if the cops won't do anything now, a court order might force them to get involved if she breaks it. Talk to a lawyer and see what you need to prove to the judge she's an actual threat. Make sure you keep records of every time you see her so you have proof.

Also be extra careful - since she knows you're a CO she might try something dumb to get back at you or make you lose your job. Stick with friends when you're out so there's witnesses, and get cameras for your house just in case. Better safe than sorry with a crazy ex.

I know it sucks you can't just scare her off yourself, but you definitely don't want her setting you up for an assault charge either. A restraining order is the best legal way to get her to leave you alone for good without doing anything that could cost you your career. Stay safe man, and I hope the court comes through for you!

do you think she'll do anything? has she threatened you? if you have proof of threats, then the police will take this more seriously. but if you only see her around, it is likely they won't do anything because it is technically a free country

i guess the only thing you can do is make sure you are armed (whatever that means for you) to protect yourself
