How do I break up with my boyfriend?

I want to break up with my boyfriend in the most polite and respectful way. I asked him if we can meet to talk and I think that he thinks that this is a date… At first, I was thinking about treating him to a nice dinner, but it would take too long and it could be really awkward. Considering the wait time and the time for you to get the food, we might have to wait an hour. I don’t want him to think that we’re just having a date (give him false hope?) when I’m about to break up with him after he’s done eating. So then, I thought of breaking up with him at a cafe… but our schedules won’t really allow that to happen. He works on the week days while I work on the weekends (I’m a university student and he’s not) and I don’t think I can get off early enough for us to meet at a cafe. So what should I do? </3
